Danny had a sitcom in the early to mid 60's called Make Room for Daddy. Marlo Thomas is Danny's daughter.

I can understand an aspiring celebrity wanting to reduce syllables, or make a name easier to pronounce. I can understand a parent wanting to give their child a unique name--within the limits of reason. What I don't understand is changing from a normal name to a ridiculous stage name like "Lady Gaga." Whatever works, I guess.

Sometimes, though, a parent can have a twisted sense of humor. There's a guy who inherited the unfortunate surname, "Odor." Well, that wasn't bad enough. Apparently, his parents thought it would be a hoot to name him "Ivan." Yep... poor kid grew up with the name, "Ivan Odor."

Several years ago, I worked with a guy named Donald Duck. Which is bad enough, but he was Donald Duck Jr.

His dad actually continued the farce.

Then of course, there was Donalds little sister,


Daphne Duck.

Another guy was Frank Knott. Normal right? His sister, not so much. Shirley Knott.

I may have mentioned this before. When my wife was in high school (Christian), there was briefly attending a family where the parents named their kid's names "Repent or burn forever" (boy), "God's" (girl) and another I can't quite recall.
