Well now this is interesting. A woman found rocks at the beach, put them in her pocket because they were interesting looking and they caught on fire in her pocket!

I saw that but I’m not sure how that happens...I live near the beach in Florida, where it’s fairly hot, and I’ve never seen rocks even melt nylon, much less start a fire. I wonder if those “rocks” were actually coals from someone’s fire pit...

No, they had veins of I think the article said, sulfur. And there's a marine base right there too. Scientists are examining them.

Yeah, I saw that. Weird. I'm curious as to what the investigation will find.

I appears to me that this was no accident. I would bet the someone planted the phosphorous - and perhaps other chemically coated rocks (ocean water would dissolve and wash away the phosphorous in a short amount of time). This was most likely someone's version of a prank.

I thought that at first too. But these are actual VEINS running through the rocks, not a coating from what I can see and understand from reading the article. That would mean someone would have had to MAKE a rock with phosphorus veins running through them.

Apparently she found the two rocks Indiana Jones dropped into the river in the Temple of Doom. The discription of veins running through them and the fact they caught fire when placed close together fits the discription of the ones Dr Jones lost some 80 years ago.
