To be a Christian, for a Christian do you have to remember Bible passages? Is it wrong for Christians not to memorize Bible passages?

To be a Christian you have to repent and believe the Gospel...you are saved by grace through faith not by memorizing passages.
I think its good to saturate your mind with the word of God and remember it.... but by no means is it necessary for salvation.
To be a Christian has nothing to do with Bible verse memorization. BUT, and a BIG BUT, the result of being a Christian makes you hungry to read God's word and as a benfit you remember what God's word says.
AmazzinThe Messiah ROSE from the DEAD to give you HIS LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS and HIS LIFE WITHOUT END.
I love reading the scriptures, but rarely memorize. I used to memorize a bunch. Now, I know the Word lives in me and trust that He will bring to my mind whatever passage(s), or words, I may need at the appropriate times.

Sunset remembers Eden...sunrise prophesies its return.

I think memorization comes easiest through years of reading the bible. Eventually, the verses just get stuck in your brain. The biggest issue with memorization is remembering what the writer meant when he said the verse you memorized. So many times, verses are used in either the wrong context... or with no context (atheists are masters of that one.) and it is pointless to know a verse if you don't understand the meaning.
