Thread: Sin being washed away.

  1. #1

    Sin being washed away.

    Rev 1:5 and washed us from our sins in his own blood,1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

    Being the blood of Jesus washed and cleansed us of sin, just what does regeneration and renewing of Holy Spirit, wash? Clean?

    What scripture did you have in mind for regeneration and renewing by Holy Spirit?

    We are transformed by the renewing of our minds. His kindness leads us to repentance, which is a change of mind. We were at one time enemies in our minds. I think the Holy Spirit convicts us of our position in Christ, tells us the truth about our sins being washed away. This renews us and regenerates us. JMHO!

    We were forgiven of our past sins, before we came to Christ. When we choose to live for Him, He regenerates our mind and soul to live for Him rather than self, causing us to not desire sin any more, when we are renewed by the Holy Spirit.

    Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
    (Rom 3:24-25)
