    Ex-gays being harassed

The LGBT community has garnered great support in its efforts to achieve the right to be themselves--without being judged or ostracized. Why then, are those same activists resent and oppose the rights of those have chosen to leave the gay lifestyle? That hypocrisy is addressed by a former homosexual:

I am wondering if you know if this man has met God or not?
This somehow reminds me of the story of Lot, where he begged the men to not stay the night where they were planning on staying because he knew what would be forced on them. Then they went to the mans home and they wanted to break down the door because they were angry someone had been kept from them. It had gotten to the point there where they didn't want anyone to have a choice and were trying to force the wickedness on others.
I really, really see the correlation.
Of course, many will just say that this man is lying about what he has experienced the same way they do with muslims who meet God and then try to tell others what their agenda is.

Yeah, the hypocrisy of many homosexuals is apparent. It's ok to be gay, but it's not ok to decide you're not happy being gay. As encouraging as it is to see that not everybody that is homosexual has to stay that way, I do have to ask if there are some "ex" homosexuals that, though not being happy in many ways with their homosexuality, end up eventually going back to that lifestyle because it's got such a strong grip on who they are?

I know 2 former gays who never went back to the lifestyle. One married my friend over 30 years ago and they have 2 grown sons. The other walked with the Lord until he went home to be with Him.

Gay activists platform is based on what they feel is a "fact" that homosexuality is something they are born with and must be accepted as normal.

The ex-homosexuals shatter that foundation. The exposure to their fallacy, of course, is going to cause a lot of noise.

This isn't the least bit surprising. Like the muslims, when someone turns away from the way they believe or live, it becomes dangerous to their cause....rather they become dangerous to their cause. It's like it's proof that what the gay community or the muslim community claims is false.

Homosexuality is an affliction and an addiction, and, as in the case of those bound by drugs or alcohol, one must hate the addiction more than they love the pleasure or gratification it affords them. God can deliver people from any power over the mind or the flesh--if they are willing to repent and turn from it, in deference to God's will and guidance. The fact that there are those who have left homosexuality is a thorn in the side of radical LGBT activists. They demonstrate a blatant double standard by denying people the very rights, freedoms and tolerance they themselves demand. In some cases they are bullying ex-gays, and engaging in what can only be viewed as "ex-gay bashing." People should be free to follow their hearts, and leave the homosexual lifestyle without fear of harassment--just as they are free to embrace it. To see it otherwise, is nothing short of hypocrisy.

When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.

You are right on here. And they practice this same double-standard with us. They want to silence us because our words are offensive to them, yet they want to be able to be out, loud and proud...in your face with their flaming behavior type of stuff; regardless of how offensive it is to the rest of us.

    Re: Ex-gays being harassed

SOJ, this thread and the other on the six commandments has really opened my eyes to a larger tactic of the enemy that he just keeps repeating because it has worked so well for him. The tactic really does revolve around two specific idols that we have
begun to worship. Their names are "freedom" and "tolerance." They are very intriguing idols and it is easy to begin to think they sound very noble and that we want to bow to them.
But the thing is, they bring no such thing as their names claim to bring. They bring the exact opposite. They cannot speak or even stand yet look how many will defend them to the point of stopping off their walk in the Spirit and of cutting each other with their words.
It is very scary and sobering because these idols are just delusions and lies but I am so prone to not being able to see a delusion and thinking it seems a perfectly safe way to go. I don't even SEE that something is an idol.
I'll tell you, the verse about a strong delusion that will fool even the very elect if it were possible is making so much sense to me suddenly.
I suppose we can see the prayer we as church need to pray for ourselves in this day.
In a bit of shock here. It isn't that we go to worship an idol on purpose per se. It is that we have no clue that this is even what we are doing...

Awestruck you totally hit it! The part about freedom and PC is right on the money.. those things actuallyblind us so that instead of seeing the spiritual side and putting God's Word first we begin to put our own ideas of righteousness first thinking God would applaud that above simply standing for His truth regardless of what it costs us.

    Re: Ex-gays being harassed

    Please help me out.

    Evil freedom and evil tolerance.

How does that work? Two oxymorons.

What I can really see happening is evils whispering in ears that freedom and tolerance is evil. I can see someone convincing free peoples of the world that a more perfect freedom and a world where tolerance is no longer going to be needed. I can see a pied piper false prophet pointing to the one leader that will give us "true" freedom and eliminate tolerance from the vocabulary because it was misleading and unnecessary where there is "true" freedom.

Be very cautious in calling freedom and tolerance a work of the devil.

You may be falling into that trap of a promised utopia.

It's "man's version" and present day understanding of it that is evil.
