Hello. I'm John Wagner. I'm a retired Navy chaplain and with my wife, Yvonne, minister to the military in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. The passion of our hearts is to provide a safe, home and family environment for young servicemen and women for a few hours each week. Building personal relationships with them then lets us share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.
We have a web site on which I publish articles I write and lots of pictures of our activities together. However, I'm attempting to make our web site more interactive. I learned how to add the social networking buttons to it; and have added a forum so people can discuss the things they read on our web site.
I was searching the web for other Christian forums where I could get ideas on how to set up our forums and came across yours. I liked it and found a lot of neat ideas that I'm going to try to implement. They say imitation is the most sincere form of compliment.
As for my contribution to your forum, I hope that the things I post in various forums will add to those discussions and help people grow in their faith. Perhaps I can help disciple young believers in Christ as well by answering questions they may have.
Briefly, I was raised in the LCA synod of the Lutheran Church, accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior in a Christian and Missionary Alliance servicemen's center in 1970, was baptized in water by immersion in 1971, baptized in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues in 1972. I was called into the ministry in 1972. Following my enlistment in the Navy I received my BA in Bible from Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo. and my MDiv at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Finally, I received my DMin from Regent University in Virginia Beach. I am currently an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God.
Whew! I bet that was more than you probably wanted to know!![]()
