We just lost our Snuitje at Oct. 31 2011 at 22 yrs. of age, and we're not ready to give up Mr. Nappie just yet......... We went at midnight Sunday to the vet and he has a bacterial bladder infection....... he was peeing blood, throwing up, the whole works........ we got his blood tested on everything possible and after an antibiotic injection and a pain injection, a bottle of medicine to give in with a little syringe straight into his mouth (without needle of course), a box of 10 pills, more of his earmeds, and a bill of 354 euro we went home with him. We thank Daddy that Charles brother just sent us money so we could all afford this........ the results of his bloodtest came Monday and they were not sure whether he had problems with his kidneys or not....... the number in his blood could go both ways, so we chose the safe way and put him on kidney friendly food...... he's too skinny too but the vet said that's because he misses his mommy and hopefully he will gain some weight with this food...... he does like it but he doesn't eat much now....... he still lost some blood yesterday but that's over now......... Now he sleeps in his basket, after half a day of meowing, we suspect he had pain, but that made him so exhausted that he fell asleep....... in the evening when he gets his meds (around 6-ish) he gets more and more sleepy and starts to sleep mostly on my lap or on my mattress on the floor with me.......... we have one more pill left and some more fluid for the syringe that we will give until it's gone......... he's not really protesting when I give it to him so we just go on with it........ it's a kind of painmed.......
At least except for the nitrane in his blood he is still a healthy but skinny cat in spite of all the candy he gets besides his food (I reward him after his eardrops or other meds, but even that he wouldn't eat the last few days) so we hope he'll last a little longer with the food we bought now (another 50 bucks and we have to go there again in a week to get more........... but who cares, as long as he survives........... I often look at his basket which is behind my mattress to see if he's still breathing, but the vet said that the difficulty breathing and the foam around his beak was purely from the pain he had.......
Please pray we've had the worst with him behind us now....... we can't face too much more here............
Love you all lots,
Mieke![]()

I can picture him getting excited around feeding time like our cat does.
