Thread: Not sure if this is...

  1. Not sure if this is...

Not sure if this is the proper place for this question.

We all go through times and seasons in our lives.

Seems like when i feel God is telling me to go here or go there much like what He did with Abraham in the story of "a land which God will show him".

When God sends us to a particular part of "the world" be it a person, church, a family, a community or whatever, How do we know for sure when God is saying, "ok child, your time there is finished, get yourself up and go to the next mission"?

Also, when the world is hungry for God and begins to seek God, why will they listen to a complete stranger before they listen to the next door neighbor who is a good man of God, or at least tries to be.
He hath given us the city
He hath given us this land
He hath given us the city
He hath given us every man
    Not by might
    Nor by power
But by the Spirit of the Lord
    We will fight
    We will conquer
    We will stand

Answering your question can take pages of text.

Please allow me a short answer and a suggestion:

If I am wondering what God wants me to do, and the answer is not readily apparent, I just take the next small step and wait. I find that being alone and silent with my mind resting on God, I find more peace with my question.

Sometimes, someone who knows you also has seen in your those things that he does not like; things he criticizes, and does not accept your words as coming from a Christian heart. If not that, he may also be wanting to discuss things that are personal and doesn't want the next door neighbor to know certain things about him. There is not much you can do about that except to rejoice that this person found someone to listen to.

If I were you, I'd ask your preferred seach engine ( Google.com , Bing.com, etc) the phrase "how do we know God's will for our lives." There are lots of people who have written lengthy explanations for that topic. Using discernment, see what they have to say.

He usually makes Himself clear, when the time is right. In my experience, I have found myself wondering the same thing. Are you telling me it's time to move on Lord?Does Your will have me doing something else, or going somewhere else? Sometimes I see His answer clearly from the start, but other times I cannot see His will.My own will and reasoning get in the way. However, when it's time for His will to be done, He makes it perfectly clear.Sometimes He puts in our spirit a restless feeling,or a sense that change is about to occur, but it's not yet time for Him to make His plan obvious.

Spend time in prayer, and pay attention to the signs, they will be there. Take a step forward in one direction, asking the Lord to close the wrong doors. He'll make it clear if you've gone the wrong way, just trust Him to guide you.Sometimes He'll lead you gently, and sometimes it will feel like He's used explosives to propel you forward into His will.

As for your second question, some sow, some water, but God grows. I heard the gospel message hundreds of times before I came to Christ, but that was just the sowing and the watering, it took the Lord to open my eyes and heart to His truth. Each person who told me the gospel message was used by God, so rejoice, that you were a part of it! It don't matter who watered last.

    blessings to you

As has been said, God will let us clearly know.

God wants us to do His will, not second guess His will and hope for the best.
(imho) If we are not sure, then we should keep on the same path and in the same direction, until or unless we know to turn left or right.

God will use who He will, whether it be a godly neighbour or a stranger. As for me personally, it was by no man, but the Lord Himself.

Some good insights here, thanks to all.

I wish to highlight our attention on the "explosives" God uses, as well as the hungry world wanting God but not wanting to listen to the person they ask.

Let me shed some light on this...

The woman that my wife and I are living with cheats on her husband, but he cheats on her too. She's bringing the strange men to her home, but the husband meets his strange women elsewhere and doesn't invite them into the home. She is afraid I'm going to tell her husband, but also is not afraid of getting caught. When it seems to the wife that I'm getting too close, she starts a huge feud. Just as long as there is so much drama n stress that I keep my distance. She is one of these people who if someones happy then it makes her mad, and if she aint happy then everybody shouldn't be happy.

She comes to me seeking Godly answers and my answers are nothing but scripture in plain english but she will immediately do just the opposite of what the scriptures say. She asks a catholic relative before asking me and my answer is the same as what her catholic relative tells her. She says she read the bible all the way through once but now she dont read it at all. she dont own a bible. her husband is muslum and she said she read the quran through twice.

She tries instigating problems for me. We live in low-income housing where the majority is african american. until recently we were the only white family in the neighborhood. I'm known by everybody in the neighborhood and pretty well respected in the neighborhood. This woman will take a small phrase I said to one of them and blow it all out of proportion and broadcast it to the neighborhood. Then me and the one i said it to have to go behind her cleaning her mess.

Also she will invite one of her boyfriends over and ask him to bring a friend. I walk in the door not five minutes after they show up. I enter normally and this woman asks me why I walked through the door ready to fight.

Now I want to reassure you all that me and my wife are planning to move soon.

This woman has tried to prevent me and my wifes wedding and now shes trying to destroy my marriage. Even went as far as convincing my wife that adultery is justified sometimes. But this viper of a woman didn't know that love and forgiveness is much more powerful and stronger than the devils work. Well she probably knows but didn't know that I had that kind of faith in God.

My question is why does she come to me with questions if she isnt going to heed the answers and why is she seeking God when she refuses to allow him to be lord of her life? Seems like she wants Him but don't wanna live for Him.

I guess I'm asking a whole list of questions and don't know how to ask them, but I know it has a lot to with our spiritual weapons and armor and the verse, "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God taking into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ"
He hath given us the city
He hath given us this land
He hath given us the city
He hath given us every man
    Not by might
    Nor by power
But by the Spirit of the Lord
    We will fight
    We will conquer
    We will stand

Re: Not sure if this is...

When you have the light of God in you, you take His will step by step. In prayer and meditation, you can unlock more of the greater plan He has for you. Sometimes I do worry about what He wants me to do, but when I live in His wprd, I get led and his leading I do not doubt.

God bless you and us all!
