China Aid Association (CAA)

Seventeen believers were arrested on June 7th at a baptism service, attended by over 20 persons, in a morning raid by police and official on the Bajiahu house church in the town of Niuchang, Jinghe county, western China (Xinjiang region). The house church leader, Wang Li, had her wallet containing her government ID, keys and 3600 Yuan (about USD 565) confiscated. Thankfully, those arrested were released that evening, but the confiscated property was not returned. According to CAA 'one of the detainees was a woman whose husband was required to sign a guarantee that his wife would no longer attend the house church’s meetings. Because of this, the husband, who is not a Christian, became very angry with his wife.'

Please pray that there would be no further action by the Chinese authorities against these brothers and sisters, and for the return of the confiscated property. Please also pray these believers would be encouraged to continue to gather, and be strengthened in their faith.

Thanks,
