The Good News in three simple parts. ( for Evangelists and witnesses.)
The Good news in three parts.
1. Redemption- Obtained for us by Christ.
1 Corinthians 15: 1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved,if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
2. Remission (forgiveness of sins)
Luke 24:47-And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem
( Obtained by repentance and faith...)
Acts 20:21- Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
3. Becoming Christ-Like
a. In this age- Romans 8: 29For whom he did foreknow , he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
b. Perfected in the age to come. 1 John 3: 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appearwhat we shall be : but we knowthat, when he shall appear , we shall belike him; for we shall seehim as he is
c. Sanctification and Glorification.
1 John 1:7- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
2 Corinthians 7:1- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
