Romans 15:13 ~ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
It's pretty awesome news. I have a devout Catholic friend who I shared this with. Made his day.
Dext3r Ministries, my ministry blog.
Epic God is epic!
You are the Lord, our God. May I live by faith for you.

I hope her movement to catholicism is but a stepping stone to Christianity. It would be a pity if he escaped the snare only to fall into a pit.

I happen to know a large number of Catholics whom I am proud to call "brother (or sister) in Christ". There's a genuine remnant of faith in every stream, tribe, and nation - just as there is the opposite. The "wheat and the tares" grow together, everywhere we look. To call an entire group of folk who profess Christ as Lord, "not Christian" is to miss the wave of genuine, Holy Spirit-led renewal that has been going on in the church since the 70's...as well as overlooking the rich history in the faith that predates Protestantism by many centuries. Some of the greatest heroes of the faith, martyrs, missionaries, and theologians in church history were numbered amongst the Catholics.

Twelve is the number of government. Thus, it is quite apropos that I am on my way towards wielding the power of twelve bars - each bar like, say, a tribe.....or a star.....or, maybe an apostle. A blue apostle. Like apostle smurfs. Does anyone remember smurfs? And all the controversy about them being from the devil? It's probably bad that I juxtaposed "apostle" and "smurf" in the same sentence. But then, I probably lost you at "blue apostle". Yes, my friends, this is what "rare jewel of a person" is actually implying. "Rare Jewel of a Person" really means, "Potentially Insane".
Thanks for sharing this, I posted it on my FB. I'm hoping my aunt will reshare it for her atheist son, though I don't look much at her as a Christian, but she at least has some kind of faith in God, calling herself a Christian, maybe she'll have the courage to post this.![]()

Every denomination has wheat and tares. Protestants included. The RCC has plenty of strengths and there are many true believers there. I speak as one who abandoned the RCC for Evangelicalism.
The RCC recites the Nicene Creed at every service. As a result, I had that engraved into my mind and the deep, foundational truths that are in that creed. Sadly, most Protestants I know, could not recite that creed. There are some creedal Protestant churches who are familiar with it, but they seem to be the minority.
I think in regard to the RCC (and ourselves for that matter), let's use a baseball analogy. If they throw a ball, call it a ball. If they throw a strike, call it a strike. They throw a lot of strikes that many liberal Protestants throw as balls.
I'm glad that Leah Libresco is no longer an atheist.
I've watched several people leave Evangelicalism and are now atheists. I'd be much happier if they left their atheism and became Roman Catholics. Sure, I'd prefer it most if they were Evangelical. However, I think a lot of Evangelicals will be surprised at how many Roman Catholics will be in Heaven.
RCC has many issues. But let's not throw the baby out with the bath water.

The sign of effective preaching is when folks are left either mad, glad, or sad![]()
It's dull disconnected non-responsiveness to preaching that is a huge problem throughout the church in America. So sadness doesn't bother me too much. It means you care! I appreciate that
As this is a discussion forum, care to elaborate on why my paragraph makes you sad - specifically, what parts of what I wrote caused sadness?

No it is sad to see that some are so blind as to see the catholic church as being true to the Message of Jesus. It seems that some have been well prepared for the coming ecumenical one world religion.
But bible prophecy said that many would fall away into apostasy, so while it is not a surprise it is still sad when you see it.

Worshiping Christs human mother and statues of her.... is just not what I would really call a brother or sister in Christ.
They have a completely different doctrine...
And we are warned straight forth..
2 John9 Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.
The teaching of Christ was NEVER to worship his sinful human mother.
Luke 1127 While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed."
28 But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."
The focus is to be on Christ.. not his mother or other statues.
"They"? So you're personally acquainted with all 246.8 million Catholics and what "they" believe?
John was talking about "Catholics" in this verse? And we are warned straight forth..

Yes, I've spoken with many Catholics that wholeheartedly agree with you.The teaching of Christ was NEVER to worship his sinful human mother.

Yes, I've known a few Catholics (not many, but a few) who I considered to be real, born-again Christians. And they feel called to stay in that organization to serve as lights to others - and they also see its errors. Now their calling is not my calling, and perhaps their's is a bit misled, but none the less, there are persons in the Catholic church who I would consider saved - though I myself could not walk that path - and I do believe in time God will call them out of it to a better path.
