In the recent Egyptian election, Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohammed Mursi emerged the victor. During the vote count, Egypt's Supreme Council of Armed Forces issued a declaration claiming for itself legislative power and control of the budget and the drafting of a new constitution in a move that some have characterized as a "complete coup" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...rt-ruling.html

However, the Muslim Brotherhood is now the largest party in the Egyptian parliament and apparently growing in influence . Several weeks ago, at a presidential rally, a popular Muslim cleric commented about what would happen if Mohammed Mursi were elected president: "Our capital shall not be Cairo, Mecca or Medina. It shall be Jerusalem with God's will. Our chants shall be: 'millions of martyrs will march towards Jerusalem'... The United States of the Arabs will be restored on the hands of that man [Mursi] and his supporters. The capital of the [Muslim] Caliphate will be Jerusalem with God's will... Yes, we will either pray in Jerusalem or we will be martyred there'". A video of this event aired on Egypt's religious Annas TV and went "viral" when it hit YouTube . Mursi has since suggested that the longstanding peace agreement with Egypt and Israel be reconsidered in order to "build ties with Iran to 'create a strategic balance' in the Middle East". http://english.alarabiya.net/article...07/219272.html

The prophet Daniel foretold of a coming King of the South (apparently a combination of Arab states) that will attack a coming European Beast power (King of the North) which will ultimately overrun the King of the South. Egypt figures prominently in this prophecy and could be a catalyst that helps bring together this King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43).
Seems world events are shaping up just as the Bible predicted it would with a northern alliance in Europe and a southern one in the middle east beginning to coalesce. The stage is being set for Christ's imminent return as these two future powers bring about the battle of Armageddon near Jerusalem.

Of course let's not forget the 200 million man army from the east [China or India] that crosses the Euphrates to meet there during the battle. Rev: 9 v13-19, 16 v12.

The Beast you are speculating about is already here. It has been gradually rising from the Sea AND from the EARTH for many centuries, and the Bible is VERY CLEAR about who it is:

In Revelation 13:11 it says:

"And I saw another beast ascending up from THE EARTH, and it had two horns, LIKE A LAMB; BUT it spake as a dragon" (Revelation 13:11)

As the above verse states, this beast is characterized as a beast that has TWO HORNS 'LIKE' A LAMB ['looks like' the Lamb Slain, Jesus Christ - i.e. - LOOKS CHRISTIAN], BUT IT SPAKE AS A DRAGON [but it 'speaks' like that OLD SERPENT, THE DRAGON, called THE DEVIL, and SATAN] (Revelation 13:11, 12:9).

"Horns" in Bible prophecy denote dominion, power, authority, or kingship, so this unholy power has a "two-fold" dominion. This beast is later called "the false prophet" (Revelation 19:20; 20:10). This beast with the "TWO HORNS like a lamb" denotes a two-fold (i.e. - 1. Catholic; and 2. Protestant) religious power which professes to be the true representative of the Lamb of God in the world. It pretends to be harmless, meek, mild, inoffensive, nonaggressive like a lamb, and has many professions of cleanliness, purity, holiness, sanctity, and godliness, but notwithstanding all of these, "IT SPAKE AS A DRAGON!"

Who else but a FIRE AND BRIMSTONE breathing DRAGON would breath "hot air" out of his mouth, pronouncing a "sentence" of everlasting sadistic torture in Hell with FIRE AND BRIMSTONE for the majority of God's creation? This twisted, evil doctrine of eternal torment could only come from the "great dragon", the arch deceiver - Satan, the devil; spoken through his body; the BODY OF ANTICHRIST (the Beast).

Very good insight here. Add to this Psa 83 and you have the reason the nation of Jordan is spared from the onsalught of the Beast power in Europe...

Psa 83:8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

For 3 years of the 3-1/2 years of tribulation, the alliance with Assyria (Germany) saves Lot (Jordan). Yet...

The northern and central portions of Jordan will be ravaged. This is why the jordanians flee to Zoar. Only the a portion of Southern Jordan is left untouched...

There is a small area of Southern Jordan that is protected. Interestingly enough, there are a couple of places there that figure in Bible prophecy, Pella and Petra.
