According to the Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC), on June 15th “50 Hindu extremists” attacked a “group of about 12 Christian families” in Mitrapur Village, Balasore District, Odisha (Orissa) State . The families had gone to the aid of Christian evangelist (Pastor Baidhar, 50) who had been attacked by “armed Hindu fanatics” earlier that day (evening). Twenty believers were seriously injured and the extremists also harassed several women.

On July 2, the whereabouts of the Christian families were unknown. It is thought that they are hiding in jungle areas.

Please pray for these believers and that the violence would not escalate
