Microsoft Office Question

Ok, I just recently bought Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010.
I think I understand most everything I need to now, but I was wondering how can I tell if it will fit on my computer?

Is there maybe a website I can go on that will tell me if it will fit? I know there is one like that, that will do that with games, but I can't seem to find one for this program.

One more thing, I did find out that I have a preview version of Microsoft Office 2007 on my computer, does that mean the 2010 one will fit?
If I download the free trial version online and goes would that mean the product would fit?

I'm not exactly sure. I think I have had it for about two or three years now. It does use windows 7 so it's not that old.

It should really work with that computer. If you download the free trial and try and use each individual program within it in many different ways, and you don't encounter any problems. You'll be fine.

If by asking if it will "fit" on your computer you mean if you have enough space on your hard drive it is very easy to find out.

Go to your start menu

Click on "Computer" (or My Computer. Same same)

When it opens up a window you will see your DVD/CD drive and your hard drive (Your hard drive is usually named "Local Disc C" )

Right click on your hard drive and then click on "Properties"

This will show you how much total space you have on your hard drive, how much space has been used and how much space you have available.

From the Windows site the system requirements for Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 are:

Computer and processor: 500 MHz or faster processor

Memory: 256 MB RAM; 512 MB recommended for graphics features and certain advanced functionality.

Hard disk: 3.0 GB available disk space

Display: 1024x576 or higher resolution monitor

Operating system: Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 3 (32-bit operating system (OS) only) or Windows Vista with SP1, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 R2 with MSXML 6.0, Windows Server 2008, or later 32- or 64-bit OS.

Graphics: Graphics hardware acceleration requires a DirectX 9.0c graphics card with 64 MB or more video memory.

Internet: Internet Explorer (IE) 6 or later, 32 bit browser only. IE7 or later required to receive broadcast presentations. Internet functionality requires an Internet connection.

So as long as you have 3 GB of available disc space you should be fine. If you don't have 3GB of disc space available I'm sure you have some things you can uninstall to free up some disc space like a video game or program that you don't play or use anymore.

Free space, 376 GB.
So, I suppose it will work then?
