Not off to a good start. Any ideas?

Every time I attempt to post something I keep getting the message I don't have permission!! This is the only section I can post to so what does that mean? Is every new member on some kind of probation? Patience is not my best quality but I do want to know if there is a probation time the. How does it last and what is needed to have permission to post??? At first I thought my log in had failed but I see that is not the case. Any ideas are appreciated. If it is a case of a waiting period then what is that about?
