    Re: Are Catholics Christian?

What's wrong with celebrating Christmas on December 25th? If it was formerly a pagan holiday then would it not be fair to say that the day was claimed/overcome to be a Christian holiday? That Christ prevailed?

As far as the "why" of it - folks in 336 AD did not have the internet or the postal service. If you declare a "day" as a celebration and that "day" was all brand new, it would have taken months if not years for the "news" to reach the masses. If the day is already being set aside as special and you change the reason for it BEING special, then I would say Christ is victorious.

It's a day. It was chosen as "the" day. That was almost two thousand years ago. In my mind, we should be more concerned with how we celebrate the event and not when we celebrate it.

Wow. We're way off the beaten path at this stage of the game

Okay folks - I think this subject has truly been squeezed of it's last drop o' juice. Time to move on to other things. I'm sure we'll revisit this lovely topic again someday
    The Rookie

Twelve is the number of government. Thus, it is quite apropos that I am on my way towards wielding the power of twelve bars - each bar like, say, a tribe.....or a star.....or, maybe an apostle. A blue apostle. Like apostle smurfs. Does anyone remember smurfs? And all the controversy about them being from the devil? It's probably bad that I juxtaposed "apostle" and "smurf" in the same sentence. But then, I probably lost you at "blue apostle". Yes, my friends, this is what "rare jewel of a person" is actually implying. "Rare Jewel of a Person" really means, "Potentially Insane".
