Did anyone read what countries are behind this move? Those who hate freedom want to regulate the Internet because it's greatest weakness is also it's greatest strength. Anyone anywhere can say anything to everyone. The Internet has been credited with helping to fuel the Arab Spring, and much as China tries to block content it doesn't like, it also often fails. This sounds a lot more like people with something to hide trying to keep their secrets than an end times conspiracy. Let's face it there are very few true open and democratic countries, most are some form of totalitarian governments with very tenuous control over their population and ignorance is their best weapon.

I think "people with something to hide trying to keep their secrets," as you mention, is more of an aside to the situation than an actual cause for it. I think for a New World Order to flourish it has to have a tight reign over things like the Internet. Kind of a 1984 "Big Brother" scenario. It may not happen next week, but it's eventually coming, so enjoy your freedom on things like this forum while you can.
