look whats been hanging out in my yard

    bunny.jpg
My dog was the first to find him, poor thing was scared to death. Their home is under my porch. The problem is the baby bunny has been outside two days in a row with momma bunny no where to be found. I used to see her hopping around in the morning, but have not seen her in a few days. I'm not sure if I should just let him be...feed it...he is so small I don't think he can survive without his momma yet.

We have a family of bunnies under our shed. I see them outside and now they let me get within 5 feet of them without running away. I've never touched them and I don't plan to, but I do talk to them. They seem to know I won't hurt them.

Anyway, that bunny is very cute. Now will it be rejected because it has your scent on it, or is that just with birds?
I don't know what to suggest to you. Maybe you can call a Vet and ask about what you should do?

Call the state department of natural resources. Tell them it appears to be an orphaned rabbit.

(Tell them you only handled it to keep it safe from your dog.) catching a wild animal is against the law in most states unless it's a rescue situation. Simply picking it up because it's cute, with any wild animal, will most times cause the parent to abandon it.

Leave him alone it the yard for a day or two. Make sure there's water available. If after two days there's no sign of mamma bunny, give them a call.

They have the means and knowhow to care for it until it's able to care for itself.

Yeah the bunny will most likely be abandoned due to the scent. I think the above advice is good.

I used to have a pet rabbit when I was a kid. Delightful.

I certainly hope not...I thought I was doing the right thing by putting him back in his hole. . I did email the local wildlife sanctuary about him, and I am waiting for them to email me back.

Just do not be suprised if they do not do anything: a single bunny does not truly motivate them.

And the momma may not be around anymore: but you can never tell.
Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.
