I'm assuming you have those credentials. I assume you have the shed blood of Jesus applied to your life. I assume you are schooled in the Word of God in some sense or another. Why not post your lessons on the Hebrew language so we can all learn Hebrew from you?

And really . . . what did Hebrew scholars have to say about Jesus? Jesus was the creator of the universe. Melissa Scott's credentials are a little smaller and we should know her credential. How can you make that comparison? Remember that when the Bereans checked out what Paul said, the Holy Spirit did not rebuke them and compare them to the religious leadership that hated Jesus. No, the Holy Spirit praised them for checking out what he said. If the Bereans were praised for checking out what Paul said, should we not look into Melissa Scott and what she has to say? If it was commendable to find out whether or not the things Paul said were so, then how much more so should we check out what Melissa Scott has to say?

I think it was a good disclaimer in the OP to state that he doesn't endorse all she says. I'm simply asking, why should we trust her Hebrew? Teaching Hebrew isn't as simple as making toast. I think asking background is a fair question.

I am not so sure how credentials are relevant to a Hebrew primer not designed for accreditation. In fact...I don't see how credentials are relevant to any bible teacher except for perhaps, brokenness,revelation and anointing. Those seemed enough for Jesus. However,if you have some and can point out any errors in the primer then that would be appreciated. The lessons aren't suited for official accreditation but do lay a nice foundation for a working knowledge of Hebrew.

Sadly it is a vocal majority of the scholastic community, but actually only a very small minority of the whole that engages in mud slinging each time someone determines to begins showing how simple it is to build a knowledge base in the population for understanding the Greek or Hebrew for studying our bible.

I agree with you 100% friend about credentials to spread the good news, and my heart goes out to those who try to stifle or create strife toward ones who labor in that noble endeavor.
Now qualifiers are another thing, there are qualifiers in our new testament for teachers, deacons and elders.

I will never meet a teacher who is correct on all points, I am blessed that I am not associated with or give 1/2 an ear or eye's attention to teachers that assume that they are correct on all points.

Thank you Shepherd's Word. I have watched Melissa Scott many times and know that she has studied several languages and pointed out errors in translation. I would think that if she were incorrect, someone in the viewing audience would catch it.

Hi Silvermist,
She is a powerful teacher and one who can get very difficult points across to many different cultures, sub-cultures and in many languages.

I came across her ministry about two years ago but by then I had already became armchair-familiar with the Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic.
But, I have and still will watch or listen to her an always come away blessed. The kind of blessed that multiplies and builds upon itself over time too. Like the water that will stop thirst and not just quench it for a little while...
