Very good post. I know I am a few months late on this post, but I wanted to comment. Being a protestant is simply being a member of a faith that isn't Catholic. That is not something to brag about seeing what many have done to the doctrine of Christ. So many have twisted the scriptures to fit how they want to live in the name of being a "christian". There are so many false teachers proclaiming that they know what God said, yet teach things that aren't Biblical.

Christ was simple. His message was simple. His dress and way of life was simple. He didn't dress in elabrate robes and go through many of the rituals that many leaders of the churches do. I think Christ would perfer it if we kept his doctrine simple. Being forgive of our sins is simple; his message is simple; liveing for him is simple.

Thanks for your thoughts grandma dolittle. I firmly believe that people should believe Jesus so that the Holy Spirit will guide them through all the religious snares and traps that the agents of satan have been working hard to produce over the centuries. There are many paths to destruction. An different enticement designed for different types of men, conservative and liberal, rich and poor, intelligent and simple. What ever a mans prejudice or bias there is a religion designed just for them.
