my question is this: how does a deaf person watch a sermon thats on YouTube etc? Is there a place where I can submit videos to be transcribed?
zillions of video sermons out there....

How they physically watch a video sermon is obvious.
How they'd UNDERSTAND the sermon is another issue.
I've noticed that in many churches, there's a person signing what the preacher is verbally saying. Some video sermons may have a signer signing.
I wish I knew a lot more about signing and sign languages than I currently do.
hey thanks for responding!
yes, a sign interpreter is often the solution for those attending. but you gotta be kidding on the interpreter in all the zillions of YouTube videos... I've only so often seen an interpreter in a video. That's not the solution for the online browser who is deaf or hard of hearing (or even blind too). That solution is transcription-- or typing what is heard into text (the also- blind will convert that text as needed).
So I'm looking for a service, charity, or tech solution for transcription of videos. Just need some help. Anything, really...
hey I'm just a hungry soul...

yes and thank you.
I have a way of being made to eat my words even when I know what I'm talking about. Yes, there ARE ASL sermons. What I was trying to say was ASL was not an option. I will spare you a long explanation of the deaf world at large. Bottom line: forget sign language.

However, in good faith, it does not seem like anyone knows or has heard of anything involving transcription. So I will probably end up going to the government for help. Imagine that...
Perhaps YouTube or the poster should provide text of the vids. Perhaps a software will convert the audio to text for me. Or perhaps I'll have to hire a transcriber just to watch a 10-minute video lesson. I don't know, I'll ask the government while I'm there. The good ol' government...
