We just went over all of this on this thread. All that was required for the covenant Jesus made was His blood, to bring an end to sin for all those that received it.

And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

"Ruler"? You obviously are using some new version of the bible, if you are referring to Dan. 9. There is no "ruler" mentioned in Daniel 9, only the prince Jesus, and the people of the prince. Threre is no ruler mentioned in the bible or KJV, only in modern translations.

Ok... i am going to look at the thread. No I did not mean the ruler in Daniel 9. I will use KJV for you.

26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

I am not sure how you are interpreting this verse but 62 weeks does not equal 70.

The messiah cut off but not for himself...

The city destroyed....

This has all happened... but 70 weeks are not up yet.

27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:

62... plus 1 is 63.... 70 minus 63.... is 7. I fail to see how Christ being killed and raised from the dead would somehow make 7 years disappear... But i will read the thread tomorrow.

Even if you think it is Jesus confirming a covenant for one year.... it still leaves 7 years....

We know 70 weeks were determined to do all the things Jesus did at the cross like bring an end (way out) to sin, bring in everlasting righteousness, etc. We know 'after' 69th week is when covenant is confirmed, which is somewhere within that 70th week.
