    Re: Looking at beautiful girls

I tend to watch people when I'm in public...especially in airports. I appreciate the physical beauty of women in the same way I appreciate the beauty of God's sunrise and sunset paintings in nature. Beauty is from God, and should be viewed through His eyes.

    Re: Looking at beautiful girls

I take the definition of "lusting" to mean of the nature of sexual depravity or even idol worship.
God made women beautiful. Yet as man, we are to worship the Creator, not the Creation.

We are to not lust after anything of the earth.

I agree with a previous poster that we can acknowledge the beauty of women and still give glory to God by thanking Him for making someone so beautiful. It doesnt mean we then go and commit sins of the flesh.

Thats another paradox...God made flesh...flesh is inherent sin...yet God asks us to not sin despite our bodies being predisposed to sin.

I'm reminded of the story of Joseph who in Potiphar's house was propositioned by Potiphar's wife daily for him to sleep with her. He kept true to his beliefs and continued to say no. He fled the situation when it got to heated even to the point of leaving his cloak behind. I bet the temptation to sin was immense.
Jesus Christ....who do you say He is?

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

When I get to know a person, it is the person inside of them that can be beautiful. I have seen some physically beautiful ladies who were very ugly inside. I know of some "plain Janes" who are gorgeous.

Amen, Boo. Physical beauty is no indication of the true person...neither is physical unattractiveness.

    But who watches the watchman?
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”

Very good answer! You have discovered the secret - being intimate with your spouse if far, far more gratifying than impersonal sex.
