Through Saturday and into Sunday morning the seizure were bad and frequent. Sunday morning at 5:30 he had another one of the many, but, he did not have another seizure until 2:30 Sunday afternoon. And, he has not had another seizure since then. That means it has been about 55 hours since his last one!

Also, the blood work which did not cover everything because they couldn't get enough, did reveal that he does not have a liver problem. That is very good news. He may have eyesight issues, but he is not blind as best we can tell.

The test for worms proved negative, but the vet thinks that may still have been the cause or nutrition, but that has been addressed.

He is running around and playing and exploring and getting into things and the wife and step-daughter are trying to keep up. He's sleeping now, but I held him for a time tonight.

It is possible the seizures could recur, but I think he is going to be okay.

So I wanted to let everyone know and say thank you all, every one of you, very much.

God bless each of you for your kindness.
That is really wonderful to hear! Please keep us posted!

Praise God! My 10 week old kitten died a few months ago, so I understand the anguish when the little critters are unwell. I'm so glad he's doing better!

    blessings to you

Re: Prayer for our little kitten

I wanted to come back to this and give an update. First, I appreciate each and every one of you - honestly for your prayers, your thoughtfulness and your kindness. Some of us get into it a little bit here and there on the board, but there is not one single person on this board that I think badly of in any way - no one and not in any way.

Luka, that is his name if I hadn't mentioned it in a prior post, finally got his seizures under control, except that he would have one about one week apart. We continued to work with the vet and two weeks ago we got him started on medicine. The vet said he shouldn't still be having them and so she felt medicine was required.

Yesterday was two weeks without a seizure. He was full of life and romping and playing and just having a great time being a little kitten.

At 2:00 am this morning my wife woke me up. My step-daughter was holding Luka as he had a seizure and it didn't stop. They rushed him to the emergency hospital, which takes a good 25 minutes. The entire way there he continued to have seizures, one after the after. By the time they got him there, he was pretty much gone. It was unlikely he had much of a brain left. I had been told by the vet that five minutes of seizures and they could have brain damage. His lasted at least 30 to 35 minutes.

    They put Luka to sleep.

We tried so hard. Well, that's all I've got say. There is no need for anyone to reply. I just wanted to let those of you that prayed know.

Earlycall..I just now saw this thread and read all through it. I was hoping for a happy ending here...

I am so very sorry... Makes me all teary just reading it.

May the Lord bless you for the kindness you showed to this little kitten...

We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

Re: Prayer for our little kitten

Just wanted to share that this thread has touched my heart and am teared up. I have had cats over the years and have two now. This little one certainly fought hard and had so much love from you during his short time. Hopefully he is busy playing across the rainbow bridge.

Blessings and prayers that the Lord provides another as wonderful as Luka was..but you'll remember him always.

the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
    is heard in our land
