Article: Mr. Key At The Dry Cleaners

    My favorite scripture: Malachi 3:16

"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name!" (Every time we speak of the Lord, or even THINK of him--its written down in a book of remembrance!)

Thanks for this story DD. I needed it this morning and there it was. It takes a special man to let another man sit in his recliner!!! Men are territorial about their recliners aren't they? Bill gave him the true seat honor in your home. He welcomed him and said, here, come sit up front friend. I think Mr. Keys wanted to pay for that table and chairs himself so he would be able to give a seat to someone who came to visit him after that, just as he was given a seat by Bill.

Yep, coffee and a cup of homemade chili, the ball started rolling, and Mr. Key's life changed forever.

Thanks for sharing that, and as has been said, thanks for obeying the Spirit.

What a very cool story -- really made my heart smile. Jesus said "inasmuch as you do it to the least of My brethren, you do it unto Me."

I really think how we treat people, is nothing other than a reflection of how much we love Him.

    :-)

Re: Article: Mr. Key At The Dry Cleaners

I want to say a personal 'Thank you' to everyone who has read about Mr. Key. You know, every year as Thanksgiving and Christmas time nears, I always, to this day, remember Mr. Key! I've come to realize that every character who crosses our path in life is sent our way for a divine reason. It may be to bless that person or it may be to bless us. With Mr. Key...he didn't know it, but he was a real blessing to our family and our church, because we saw a miracle happen. Right in front of our eyes. And we were all reminded how we had all at one time smelled really bad, I think, to the good Lord. But...he is the God of second chances!

You're right. And third, and fourth, and fifth chances, and on and on. As our pastor said yesterday, you may think you're a thousand steps away from God, but it only takes one to come back.
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

    (Colossians 1:15-17 ESV)

(Read that last one--Jesus keeps your atoms from flying apart.)

Thank you for sharing and Happy Thanksgiving!
Galatians 6:14 - But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
