Are you guys following the World-cup Rugby??

Sep 15th 2007, 07:32 PM
I will if you follow my New England Patriots through their difficult time...;)
Sorry, I had to throw that in...
and for those gloating over the Patriots...

ok..back to your question..I don't watch soccer but my son does..so he is probably following it..though he is in such great mourning over his football team, I'm not sure.

let me get it straight:

so I was closer than I thought with the whole football statement!
Is rugby like football?

Sep 15th 2007, 07:56 PM
No, in soccer/football you do not handle the ball with your hands, (hence football) in rugby you run with the ball in your hands :)

South Africa humiliated England 36-0 in a Pool A mismatch at the Stade de France on Friday.

so rugby is much like our football? I think I will look it up..sounds interesting..actually I think I'll go see if we have it on tv...I'll be back!

In rugby they do not wear the protective shoulder-wear like in Football

On 30 Sept. we play against the USA :D

That will be a massacre: 80-0

Looks like SA are the form team. Aussies and Kiwis will be up there too. England will struggle to beat Samoa in their next game after the hiding they got from you guys. Argentina might be the surprise packet.

What about the 20/20 World Cup, have you seen any games?

Sep 16th 2007, 03:59 PM
Hi Leigh, no, I have not been watching the cricket :) Since we lost against the Aussies ...... nahhhh .... Actually I have been enjoying the summer-flu (NOT!!!)

I wonder what the biggest score difference is going to be :hmm:

Yup, Australia is playing pool B, we are playing pool A, and NZ is playing pool C. We were seated no.4 ... now we are no.3 (Needless to say Aussies and NZ are 1, and 2) So at least we'll get to play a couple of games before we meet you ;)

Although we have beaten England 36-0, we have beaten Samoa 59-7...So England might have a change against them :hmm:
