Hello miepie,

I just wanted to thank all those who prayed for me during my lymphoma chemo (December 06 through May 07). My doctor (and everyone I know) says I have done as well as anyone they have ever seen. I want to thank God, and all of you for your prayers. The bad news (if there is any) is that this is a chronic lymphoma/leukemia which usually returns again and again until it wins. So I ask for prayers that God will keep this cancer at bay for at least as long as I might be of use to Him on this earth (and right now I do have a wife and three daughters ages 15, 12, and 8 to provide for, but I believe He will provide for them if and when I am no longer around).

I pray that God be with all those who are chronically ill. Remember that this life is not all there is; there is life beyond the grave for those who serve the Living God.

Last week on a blood work a level was in the CANCER RANGE..have to redo this Wed.; and schedule ct-scan & liver biopsy w/ in a month..praying that this was a false reading..NEED PRAYER &

After coming off of the 1 yr. of medications unfortunately my Hep C viral level went up to 4 million---this was an unexpected set back.

It appears that the hep c virus hid in some FATTY LIVER, and that made it undetectable. Due to the medications I also may have developed PRE-DIABETES.

My HIV remains undetectable, thank God, but I could use a rise in t-cells. Hence, please lift up in prayers for a Fatty Liver to return to normal; Hepatitis C virus level to go down; NO diabetes to progress; and T-Cells needed to boost my immune system to rise. And NO CANCER!

A COMPLETE MEDICAL OVER-HAUL ! & Help in getting both pension plans to be 100 % correct; for past disabilty payments to be approved; & a NYC Bond overdue returned...:help:

And I do thank you, Debra R. I am doing quite well. Other than still not having all of my energy back, and having some minor pains (and some extreme sensitivity in some of my back teeth of all things), I have no health related complaints from the cancer/chemo. I know they dump a lot of chemicals into your body during chemo, and I am thankful that the long-term side-effects were/are fairly minimal as far as I can tell. I wish all who go through such things could come out as well (or better) than I. My current prayer request is that if I have gone through all this for some higher purpose, that I will not miss that purpose. We do live in a fallen world, and disease and death are a part of it, whether we want to accept it or not. I want to come out of this being somehow a better Christian than I was before. I know some will disagree strongly with what I am about to present, but I also think it aligns with biblical teaching. I saw a Chinese proverb which said,

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials."

This has become a very meaning statement to me. So I glorify Christ in my trials. May I become what He wants me to be through them.

Sincerely,
Bandit

And hello to you, Faithworks. I do agree with your prayer. God Most High, when it does coincide with Your will, I do ask for the healing of all those who call upon Your Name, so that Your Name may be glorified on earth as it is in heaven. And when You do allow physical death to overtake those who call upon Your Name, welcome them into Your presence and give them eternal peace.

I'm new here, nobody knows me. I have leukemia, which is in remission for the last year and half. I have undergone treatment 3 times and it works for about 2 years. Please pray for the healing mercy of God, or that the length of time between treatments be lengthened. Thanks.

The bible states

James 5:16 (http://bibleresources.bible.com/passagesearchresults.php?passage1=James+5:16&version=9) (Whole Chapter) (http://bibleresources.bible.com/passagesearchresults.php?passage1=James+5&version=9)
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I stand on the word of God right now for the healing of the afflicted. I know that God is more than able to bring about healing. His word tells us that we should pray for one another so in my prayer time I will be adding those on this board who are afflicted to my list.

I also had Cancer and recovered from two rounds of Hodgkin's and with God's help and Hope, you will recover again. Look into a Cancer hospital like, Cancer TREATMENT CENTERS OF AMERICAN or Fox Chase in Philly, Sloans Kettering in NY City.

Make sure that you take important supplements, like Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Milk Thistle, also CQ10 for the liver, heart and many other Amino Acids and large amounts of Vitimain A, all the B's and C's Ester-C and E, also plenty of D & D3 especially when you are on chemo. Tell your doctor first about these supplements. They have been study under the Mayo Clinic Research Hospital for repairing the liver and given strenght to the Immune system

May God Give you a miracle, a Total healing, of Mind, Body, and Soul, according to His will, and in agreement with many others who are praying,
In Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

If you could please add my friend from AV, her sister, and her dad.
They have become like an extension to my family.
We think of ourselves like older brother / younger sister in Christ, not just best friends.
Anyway,
The medical problems they face every day hit them hard on a physical level.
And hit them and everyone they know hard on an emotional level.
If you are wondering what they face , I have a link in my signature.

Thank you for this thread miepie

Forgot to add:
Yes Marfan is a genetic problem ( Parent - child ).
But it wasn't the father's fault, or the mother's fault,
or anyone else's for that matter, except maybe the system.
The problem is that they are a good example
as to why medical records of adopted people should be made available.
The father was adopted and the medical records where unaccessible to his adopted parents.
And then when he was old enough to make the request on his own, the records 'mysteriously disappeared'.
So no-one had the slightest clue that his biological family had a long history of sever heart problems.
He didn't find out until his oldest when in for a physical when she was 8.
And the physician noticed some of the symptoms of Marfan and referred them to a specialist.
And the specialist tested and diagnosed each of them with Marfan,
and got them treatment ASAP.

Why do I say the system failed them?
Because for as long as I have known them the father and the mother have
said if they had known about the father's medical history
they would have been more likely to adopt then have biological children,
in fact they are fostering, a young child (about 8 years old) right now.
It's not that they don't love the biological children they have.
They do, as far as I can tell the only one that they Love more is God Himself.
The thing is that by not having the info,
many times they feel like that they where gambling with there children's lives.
And that just isn't right, unless God gives you a command to do so.
But then if He is telling you to do so, it isn't much of a gamble is it?;)

Please add me (Diane) to the list. I have been living with stage IV metastatic breast cancer over two years now. I have a husband and 3 sons who also need prayer to help them deal with this disease. I just recently began a new chemo treatment and have not tolerated it well. The dose will need to be reduced or I may need to stop treatment with this drug if the side effects do not diminish.

Thank you,

I recently began working with our chaplin, Doc. He had me fill out a questionarre, as I sat in the silence of the chapel, almost unable to stiffle my sobs, I answered honestly. Once Doc scored the questionarre, he told me lovingly the difference between human view point thinking and god view point thinking. That I scored on the bipolar line, and it was my choice to get help. That medication didnt make me anyless christian, and that these times I have suffered in the darkeness or when on a high Jesus wept with me too. I chose to take the medication, to much critisim of other christians.
I recently began the medication. Our family, husband and 3 daughters, ages 4, 7, and 11 began family counsiling to put ourselves togather again.

I have bipolar disorder, it will never go away. I will have this for life. The damage and destruction this disease has done to our family and friends is unreal. I ask that you pray for God to restore us to be what he has planned for us. That the medicine catch hold with little side effects.

Kaity

I have non-hodgkins lymphoma, in remission now but permanent affects to my immune system for the past 20 years now, I also deal with arthritis and severe bone degeneration and SCI (spinal cord injury) from abuse suffered when I was younger, also some emotional disorders from abuse but I have come a very long way in healing and functioning and do my best to try to help other survivors find the best way to move forward. Please pray that I am able to fight the physical health trouble long enough to make a difference somewhere?

I was so happy to see this thread. I have a long list of chronic medical diseases which I would like prayer for a complete healing. My daughter also has medical and mental chronic diseases and she really needs prayer now as she is struggling to complete her program and feeling discouraged about her mental problems. Please also pray for my mother she has early stages of Alzheimer along with some chronic medical problems. The quality of her life has really diminished and it's difficult for me to visit her as much as I would like to with my own health problems and my having to help both of my children alone. I really want to be healthy and able bodied so that the Lord could use me to minister to other people and help anyone who needs help, I am happiest when I am serving the Lord.
Thank you all for your prayers and God Bless all of you and I'll be praying for all of you here.
Thank you Jesus,
Katzie

I (Lia) would like to be added to this list! As I type this, I am up because I am in severe pain. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. I have had them most of my 30 years. The problem now is that I also have a 7-month old son, Samuel. It kills me that sometimes I want to hold him, but I can't because my arms hurt too much. The docs want me on an antidepressant that treats pain, and it does help, but I can't afford the script. Some nights it's so bad that I wonder how I am going to live the rest of my life with this!
Then, I feel so convicted because my dad (Manny) was just diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gherig's disease) and I feel like a whiny complainer -- he's facing paralysis and an agonizing death. The disease is progressing very quickly for him and soon he will not be able to play guitar anymore (he is 59, and has been playing since 15). :(
I have been focusing on Jer 29:11, 30:17 and Romans 8:28, but I am weak sometimes and let my anxiety take over. I will take whatever prayers I can.

Praying for all of you, that the Lord will lift you higher and higher in His strength and love, filling you up with His blessing and causing your spirits to soar with joy. Though the body may ache the spirit may soar high like an eagle, with the strength that is within in us that is stronger than the world. Bringing glory to His name and joy, comfort, peace, understanding, and strength to each of you. May He take you higher than you could ever imagine filling you with His Spirit blessing you all beyond measure.

Hello all (and angelwind),

I am praying this will be a good Easter Sunday for all of you. It is so easy for those like myself who have gotten better to forget to pray for those who are still fighting to hang on to hope - and even to life itself. I pray that God gives each of you a double measure of faith and strength, to endure whatever it is that you are facing this day.

I need to spend more time in prayer - period.

Hello all,

I have not posted here in over a year, so I thought I would give an update. This is what I wrote Oct. 13th of 2007.

This has become a very meaningful statement to me. So I glorify Christ in my trials. May I become what He wants me to be through them.

When I wrote this, especially the last part, I had no idea of what I was soon going to go through.

Around December 20th of 2007, the bottom began falling out, and fast. I only thought the cancer and 6 months of chemo were bad. Looking back, it almost seems like the cancer and chemo were a cake-walk compared to what started happening. What I didn't know was that the chemo which I had finished in May of 2007 had left my immune system in a very unstable state, and when December of that year came it was like an avalanche broke lose. I won’t go into all the details, except to say that I have never had to face anything even remotely like that before. The pain was nonstop and incredible - and stupid me bore it with no drugs. I was afraid that the end was coming and I didn’t want to die in a hospital. I lost 30 lbs in about 6 weeks, which is 20% of my body weight. And how is that possible? Well, if you don’t eat because you can’t, it happens. It was a painful struggle just to stay hydrated. And why I didn’t come here for prayer support I will never know. (I think I was just in too much pain to think straight.) But praying is what we are suppose to be here for. But I did have all kinds of persons praying for me from both the churches I was visiting. I finally started a slow but very protracted recovery sometime in March of 2008, which pretty much took the rest of the year to complete (though I’m still not quite back to 100%, whatever that may mean). During the late February time frame of 2008, both my wife and myself (separately though) were praying that God would end my suffering by whatever means necessary, and yes, that meant "Beam me up, Scotty."

So now here I am, in relatively excellent health - compared to what it was. (I still have minor pain on and off, but after having major chronic pain for months on end, minor pain is just a relative inconvenience.) And I am very thankful, but I also feel somewhat guilty. I think I was allowed to taste some of the very severe chronic pain that some of you must still be facing, but I was allowed to recover while others are still fighting the battle. And I bet there is another level of pain that I have not yet experienced, and I bet some of you are there right now. How can I tell some of you to hang on when I was barely hanging on with what I went through? Suffering is just plain hard. I was literally on my knees every day, praying for mercy and asking God to end it. At times my prayers were literally something like, "Heal me or kill me, but just get it over with." I was even angry with God for a time. It seems I had to hit bottom, ask for forgiveness, and accept the suffering until God finally allowed the healing to start. So for those of you going through severe chronic pain, I can say that I’ve been there to some degree or another, and complete healing is possible, but why some get healed and not others, I do not know. For instance, there are two women I am aware of, one I is a work acquaintance, the other is the wife of a work acquaintance. Both these women have been battling cancer for about 4 years. One is, apart from Devine intervention, on death’s bed. The other, perhaps not far behind. Both have been through much more than I have. The one who is near death is a solid believer. Her name is Patti Saunders; please pray for her and her husband, who is also a very strong Christian. She is on strong daily pain meds. The other woman’s faith I am unsure of. Her name is Mary Moody. Pray for her as well. I have to wonder why I am doing so relatively well (for the moment) while they are both going through a living hell.

So for those of you reading this, don’t be like me and go for so long and not pray for those in severe chronic pain. You never know when it might be your turn, and believe me, when it comes, you will want the world to be praying for you. And if anyone wants or needs me to pray for them (as if my prayers are worth having), just let me know and I will pray.

Thanks for the update Bandit..... I do remember you....

I have become more ill too..... I have my prayerthread here in the forum and I know many are praying for me as my disease progresses..... both my husband and I are dealing with pain on a daily basis and disabilities as well......
I am bedridden and basically a shutin and severely disabled, and my husband has deformities on hands and feet due to his psoriatic arthritis...... I am so glad he's still able to push my wheelchair though when we go to the stores downstairs once or twice a week..... that hour outside breaks our daily routine...... but due to pain I rather stay inside...... anyway, it's a hard life with all this pain between us....... so prayers are very much appreciated here too......

Love you all,
Mieke

hi miepie. I would like to be added to this list. I suffer from severe lower back pain and just found out that I have another coronary blockage. I already have 4 stents and if this blockage is any where near the four, it will probably mean bypass.

Thank you,

Well...

Well......

Well it could be that my lymphoma is back, but in a new and different form. And just when I was beginning to feel almost 100% after all I had been through the last 3 years. But this could be cool! I could have a really rare form of skin lymphoma (a rare form of CTCL). (I was previously diagnosed with SLL, which just isn't rare enough to be cool.) Anyway, I went to see the dermatologist today and she said that I would be her first case ever if it pans out! (And no, I don't really want this, but hey, sometimes you got to go with the flow!) I had already done some reading and I knew more than she did. She said she would have to read up on it, and they will do a biopsy, but she said it did look like it could be what I was suspecting. (And I do hope I'm wrong.)

You would have to know me and all I have been through to understand... I have a wife and teen-age kids, and so far they know nothing. I would rather this not be another cancer ordeal. But I am in good spirits... for the moment. I think the wife would really loose it. I pray this turns out to be nothing, but I have learned to live on the edge - or just over it.

Oh yea, I have cancer friends (yea, they do exist) who are not doing very well. I ask God to give them strength and mercy for all they are facing, and for me as well if this is the path that I must walk yet again. I ask for God's mercy for all those going through such nonsense as this. This really does stink!

I would appreciate it if you could add me to this list. I have ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune condition where the body attacks the large intestine. It's in a "remission" period at the moment, but it will return throughout my life and is very painful and causes great illness when it's active. It cannot be cured but my constant hope and prayer is that it will stay in remission until I can get health insurance again -- the drugs needed to suppress a flareup not only have many side effects, but many of them are very, very expensive. :(

Hey BluePlastic,

I don't know anything about what you have, but have you researched for any natural remedies? I know what I have is supposedly not curable, but there are some supplements which have been shown (or are suspected) to help with what I have, and I am taking them. Perhaps the same is true for what you have. Since God designed the physical body to heal itself, then if we give it the nutrients it needs, we are giving it the best chance we can for healing (plus prayer on top of that).

I am praying that your bouts are few and far between.

This is probably repeating what many of you already know.
But here are the two friends that have major chronic health problems.
For thouse that don't know.

One has Marfan Which is a aortic heart problem that basically can cause them to tear burst under 'normal' pressure / 'wear and tear'.
The deadliest part is that Marfan is so silent , if you arn't looking for it the symptoms can make you think you are suffering from heartburn, or you just need to sit down and rest. When really you could be bleeding on the inside.

The other, is someone who has a problem with her lungs.
For some reason her body produces so much of the stuff that her lungs need.
That her lungs are over whelmed and can make breathing difficult, and sometimes her lungs bleed also.

They both have been given shorter then average life spans.:(
But they both know, worship, and serve Christ so even though I pray that nothing happens to them.
I know where they will be if it does.:pp

Almighty and Eternal God,
You are the everlasting health of those who believe in You.
Hear us for Your sick servants listed above
for whom we implore the aid of Your tender mercy,
that being restored to bodily health,
they may give thanks to You in Your Church.
Through Christ our Lord.

In the name of the Son
The Father
and the Holy Spirit

Amen.

I too have SLL/CLL, though it sounds like your case is very mild - nothing really happening yet, perhaps it will stay that way. I could give you some advice on nutritional supplements, if you are interested.

Three years ago I was stage III. I did have to go through the nasty bad chemo, and then 6 months after that the bottom fell out. I was ready to die. But here I am, making an attempt at a full recovery (for however long God allows). As you probably know, there is no permanent cure for this, but there are worse things - much worse - like not knowing God.

I pray in agreement with these and all other heartfelt prayers for our brothers and sisters in need of our Lord's healing touch. Right now !We take authority over all sickness and disease and cast it away from our brothers and sisters in the name of Jesus The Son of God ! Oh Lord,
I thank You for all Your people. I thank you that You have a purpose for everything and that You are faithful to minister to us through our infirmities as to others through us. Lord I ask for all these brothers and sisters, and for myself. May pain come to be seen as an opportunity to know the suffering You endured for us. May our circumstance make us better able to know how to love others, let us not be given to despair, or be controlled by emotions. Let us rely entirely on You and minister in all situations we are able to the very best of our ability.

I ask these things, and pray your blessings,

IN YOUR Son's Name,

AMEN.

Thank You for Your great Love for us!

IN Your Son's Name,

Amen.

Kars (add) - thQ. Living with chronique fatique, fibromyalgia, restlessness and just alot of nasty symptoms. I need this thing to stop tearing me apart emotionally and physically, so I can live the life God has planned for me. I want to see people healed and Gods glory manifest, hallelulejah. I want to study and get revelation of the grace of God. People here need to know about it and the church needs change. Please pray for me to have new energy to do this. Also Id like to get in contact with someone who's got the same. I read an old reply of Lia, but I can't visit her profile page. I can't understand how she can have lived with it for 30 years. Either I have it more severe or she has more strenth than me, because I have this for a year now and it's just awful. Respect for you Lia. Hope you are well.

I would appreciate it if you could keep me in your prayers. Thank you.

I just noticed this thread, so I'd appreciate it if you could add both of my parents to the list.

My dad was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) a few years ago after an unrelated blood test produced some weird numbers. It hasn't really done much yet since then, but I'm sure he'd still appreciate prayer since there's always that nagging fear that the numbers are about to spike or something.

My mom has quite a few health issues going on, some more chronic than others. I think she rarely goes a day without a lot of pain (she jokingly said once that her version of a pain scale is 1 for tolerable pain and 2 for too much pain to function), and it can really affect her mobility at times to the point where she's hoping to get a permanent handicapped parking permit once her temporary one expires (and she's definitely not the sort of person to use something like that needlessly).

Thanks in advance for your prayers for them.

Dear brothers and sisters,

A little over five years ago, I was diagnosed with Cerebellar Atrophy (shrinkage of the 'region of the [lower] brain that plays an important role in motor control', Wikipedia). This effects my balance and movement (ataxia), and my speech (dystarthia). The condition is getting progressively worse: difficulties with my balance and movement are more frequent and stronger than before, and my speech is also getting worse (pronunciation difficulties, strong slurring at times etc.). I sometimes get quite anxious and frustrated about the movement and speech problems. :B According to the neurologists consulted, there is no known cure or effective treatment for the condition.

I would appreciate prayer for healing, and for wisdom and help in dealing with the worsening symptoms, and the anxiety and frustration.

Thanks,

God bless you,

doug3

Father in heaven, your only begotten Son who you sent, Christ Jesus who could heal us even before He shed His blood to perfectly satisfy your justice.
These who come asking for healing, they know and trust that Jesus your Lamb need just speak the word to heal them, and they came here in hope on His word Father, we know you can do all things.
In your mercy today heal those who look to and trust in Him, do this to glorify your name and to bring us joy.

Have mercy on us.
