IF Jesus were here today would He spend more time on this forum, in the comfort and anonymity of His own home or work, debating scripture with the "Pharisees," in toe to toe showdowns, or would He be out preaching the gospel to the lost and showing His love? Maybe this should be a poll

That's what the "Christians Answer" forum is for. :D

But obviously He wouldn't spend all His time on the internet, no.

I agree we need to give answer for those who ask, but are we so caught up in who is right and who is wrong that we waste entire days and evenings on this thing, and never having personal face to face encounters with people who really need Jesus, I have been making observations and it seems some people never leave their keyboard.

I've actually been thinking the same thing, especially when I see how it seems sometimes certain members debate with what seems more like "I want to win" rather than "I want to learn". Overall though, this is a good site which I like. :D

I don't think anyone is out to "win" but rather many of us have strong convictions and stand by what they have learned through the Word and understand as truth.

That said, i have wondered the same, but in all reality, i think if Yeshua came to hang out here, he'd likely be ignored on some issues because of the things He would say that some would not agree with, just like some Pharisees of their time ignored Him.

I once knew a guy named Jesus, who spent unhealthy amounts of time on the internet. Of course, his full name was Jesus Barrientos and he was a recent immigrant from Mexico. I think part of the time he spent on the internet was with his family back home, but I'm not sure.

Of course, this might be a different Jesus than you're referring to. ;)

I for one I'm very thankful for this site, and though I'm certain some tares are mixed-in with the wheat, it is nonetheless very helpful for me to be able to share my views and get other's input on many things related to my daily walk with The Lord, not to mention a healthy alternative to the wasted hours I use to spend on "porn sites" and other like garbage on the web, besides it's not like I'm addicted to it, I just happen to have a lot of free time at work.

I do believe when LAN Admins trace my web activity and see that I spend most of my time here or at other Christian related sites, it's a way for me to "witness" to them in a way though my "browsing" I give God the glory and who knows if perhaps The Holy Spirit can work through my life and my activities to draw others to Christ.

Besides, I do believe the Spirit can use me to minister to many brothers and sisters, specially in the form of people requesting prayer, or counseling, or clarification on issues dealing with their daily walk with the Lord, which I do as the Spirit leads me to, and He can also use many others to edify me and help me with my Walk as well.

In short this is a great way to "Redeem the time because the days are evil". If Jesus comes today, I'd rather He find me here than watching some silly sitcom on TV. :saint:

A couple of things:
1) How can you observe that some people never leave their keyboard unless you spend all of your time at the keys as well? Pot, meet kettle.

2) There are one or two people on this board who (for health reasons) are relatively shut-in or at least have severely restricted mobility. Have you considered this site may be some people's way of being involved in a Christian community?

3) What observations have you made that directly correlate time spent discussing on Bible forums has an inverse relationship to personal face-to-face encounters with people who need Jesus? Have you considered that some of us spend nearly our entire days surrounded by these people, and these forums provide a great amount of support and wisdom?

4) Have you taken the time to read the testimony of some of the regular contributors here? There are some great movers and shakers for the Lord.

Just a couple things to consider before lumping everyone here into the ubiquitous "we" you label as Pharisees

If Jesus were here today, he'd say... "Wow, things haven't changed a bit. Well, I guess that means I need to get back to work!" Heal a few people here and there, teach, be worshipped, etc..

I think Jesus would be disappointed with a lot of things posted here and elsewhere on the net.

If Jesus were here today, as in 2nd coming, I don't think anyone would be on here, so why would He be on here? ;)

If Jesus were here today, as in 2nd coming, I don't think anyone would be on here, so why would He be on here? ;)I hope this isn't in regards to my comment, I didn't mean to derail this thread into an "end times" debate, I just meant that I feel The Lord approves of me spending time here, as long as I keep it friendly and post all my comments in love and under His direct supervision, never causing contention for the sake of it, but also giving honor where it's due as well as being honest in holding steadfast to what I believe is truth, but never forcing it upon others if it's obvious that they don't share the same view, and if at all possible leaving rebukes and hand slaps up to the moderators.

As to whether anyone will be posting here when Jesus comes, assuming you hold to the view of a pre-trib rapture, and assuming the servers keep running when all the mods and admins go-up to meet The Lord in the air, which I pray they will, I think some will want to post concerning "What do we do now?" kinds of threads, which I hope I won't be around to get into. ;)

Probably both. I think the Lord would drop by to encourage and to rebuke and correct where necessary.

HisLeast's post lists some points you should take into consideration.

This forum is the place where I HAVE received encouragement to get out of my comfort zone and start sharing the gospel message with more people.

It only takes a couple of seconds to scroll down a page and notice someones posting frequency, which doesnt leave time for witnessing if you are on here debating right and wrong with believers, just notice that a lot of people are called to Correct the church rather than saving the lost. But nevertheless, i am not here to argue, And as for those that are stuck in their homes i agree this is a great opportunity, but for those who that doesnt apply to, just gotta ask yourself, How am i adding to God's kingdom or affecting it daily?

He would do what the Father told him to do. Interesting, the Father actually gave me a word concerning this board. Hmmm. I doubt the word to me and the word to Jesus would be the same though since we are different parts of the body. ;)

I think He is here, He lives in me. This is reality and HolySpirit will lead us to where and what Jesus is doing.

why would you say, IF Christ were here today? Christ is here today! Not in the flesh but in the form of the spirit as he promised. He said in a little while the world seeth me know more, yet ye SHALL see me, for I will be with you even in you till the end of the world. Can we see Jesus today? Of course the believer does.

Hello everyone

If Jesus was here today he would simply choose a spot to address people and begin teaching it would be a network of commercial services that would use todayís technology to broadcast his message and people would flock to see him, this would immediately have an affect on most if not all religions and I believe people would most probably put aside there differences and reconcile because Jesus could easily identify there hypocrisy.

It would be another turning over of tables and throwing out of people if Jesus was to visit some fellowships and see what has become of his teachings and there practice.

Honestly could you imagine ministers inviting Jesus into there multimillion dollar complexes when there are starving needy people outside and the money has been spent on personal luxuries and materialistic enhancements, and then they say to Jesus this is all yours.

Iím sure Jesus is not going to say thank you Iíve finally made it and Iím now Iím going to be rewarded for my obedience to God, he may say repent and sell everything you have and give the money to the poor so you may have treasure in heaven then come and follow me and I will teach you about the glory of God.

Could you imagine religious leaders turning up expecting recognition or tribute and Jesus randomly picking any member in the crowd saying greater is this sinner then you because they know they have sinned and are willing to admit it and you say you have no sin therefore was the son of God manifested that he might take away the sins of the world etc etc.

You could let your imagination run wild hehe.

Anyway just food for thought

Peace

Sam

Folks,

This is an old thread and some of those who posted in it are no longer active members here, so I'm going to go ahead and close the topic.
