Please pray for 15 churches in Suzdal, Russia. The MP (Moscow Patriarchate) is planning on taking these churches away from the people and doing something else with them (maybe because of government there). The Orthodox have filed 15 court cases (rather than one) on the matter to make it more difficult for them.

Please pray for these Christians and their churches in Russia.

Is the MP of government affiliation or is it actually the head of the church like The Vatican is for the RCC?

A patriarchate is a council of the churches in an area. Wherever the Apostles established churches a patriarchate is set up, generally speaking. Because all of Russia began under Christianity, as their king chose the religion for the people, it was large enough to support a patriarchate itself. Otherwise it's churches would've been associated with another patriarchate such as that of Jerusalem, Antioch, Rome, Constantinople for example. Basically it identifys with unity in the churches.

The MP in Russia has been suspect to many Orthodox since the fall of communism. Because the patriarchate was infiltrated by the atheist government at one time. There were many traitors in the church at that time, who stood with the antichrist government. Many faithful were told to flee to America by the patriarch of Moscow at the time, "Tikon", until things were sorted out. Which is why in America, Orthodox are self governing for the most part. This continues to be the case. Many Orthodox bishops in the US deal with this issue continually.

The persecution of Orthodox Christian clergy continues in Russia daily. They are imprisoned, beaten and even poisoned.

This is amazing. I am standing with you in prayer.

That our brothers and sisters would be encouraged in their hearts and empowered with a fresh anointing to stand. To know that the battle is the Lords they have not been left alone. Lord we pray that they would be in your rest. Empower them Lord with your word. That they would have your joy in their hearts.

Through the powerful name of Jesus we render the enemy powerless and bring their plans null and void driving a wedge between them and the saints. Lord I pray for the offenders. Touch them Lord, for your kingdom. Those who have been enslaved in their minds...open a window in their hearts so that they would hear the truth in love and be set free.

I want to thank all Christians who prayed about these churches. And I wanted to give an update on the situation. They are losing their churches to the MP (Moscow Patriarchate) and government. This is known as Sergianism in Russia.

What this may inevitably lead to is a split in Russian Orthodoxy again. Those who do not align themselves with the decisions of the authorities will be seen as schismatics. It is a hindrance of freedom of conscience, such as happened in the past there in Russia.

Christians who reject the decision of the MP will become once again catacomb Christians independent of or from the patriarchate.

The saddest part of all this is, (without getting in depth on the subject) that this could lead to an alignment of the MP with the pope. Which is in turn going to seem to many to be further persecution by the Roman church.

Wars are not always waged with swords and blood, especially if they are not of this world.
So please continue to pray for the catacomb Christians which will result from all this.

Thank you all again for your prayers. There is still hope. An appeal is going forth.

Everyone help if you can, by sending a letter to the president of Russia, letting him know that their freedom of religion is important to us Americans. Per chance international pressure will cause him to rethink what is happening.

All Chrisitans are entitled to their freedom and liberty in Christ. And Orthodox Christians would not want to see the patriarchate in Russia turn into another vatican. Orthodox have always been and should remain autonomous and/or autocephalus churches of Christ.

Help the Russians have religious freedom, here (http://www.kremlin.ru/eng/articles/send_letter_Eng1.shtml) is a link to write to the president of Russia, should the Lord put it on your heart to do so.

Peace be with us all,
Eve

Oh Father, thank You for giving us the opportunity to pray for our brothers and sisters in Russia. I pray that Your will be done for them, and that even through the adversaries work that You may be glorified and that people would be drawn into a relationship with You.

We know Your ways are higher then ours, and even then our understanding. Lord we know that You love Your Church, and You will guide her. Father I ask Your mercy on those who oppose You, and that they, even those who seek to disrupt Your work would allow their hearts to be changed and would be added to Your kingdom. May You receive all glory and honor in this, and may Your people be obedient to You.
