In Genesis 1:14-18 it says 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. Gen 1:14-18 (KJV)

Question i have is if God created the stars for our seasons, days, and years then why are there soooo many stars that we can not see that are out there? Why would He say that stars are for us when we cant even see most of em? And why not mention the other planets?

Well, because (1) Genesis isn't a science text book and (2) we can see a lot of stars:rolleyes:

God created many things, knowing our need to discover. God is such a great God that he gave us things to do and technologies to discover.
The bible would be a million pages long if it were to spell out everything included in all the sciences. The Bible is God's word to man. It is an introduction to God's nature. It is meant to provide us a starting point to begin to learn our creator. It is meant to inspire us to learn more, not to answer every question we might come up with.

Hi If you read the account carefully you will see that time was to be ruled by the two great lights, the sun and the moon.

Their days were determined by the sun. Their months (moon periods) by the moon. Their years by both sun and moon depending on whether they were thinking of a solar year, or the more populat lunar year.

He does not say that the stars are for us. Only that God made them.

He didn't say they ALL were for us. We have NO IDEA how far God's creation reaches and what else He could have possibly created. See how big God is?
