Hey fellow brothers and sisters,

I just wanted to take time to discuss the topic of Gospel Tracts. What a wonderful and unique way to share the Gospel! Often times when we don't have the words to say what God would have us say  a tract can do wonders.

Now obviously there's much better and more effective ways to share the Gospel (showing others love in Jesus' Name I think is the #1 way) but tracts are fun and you just gotta love knowing that people are hearing the Gospel even when you aren't around. :saint: Plus, tracts aren't scared and don't back down one bit - the truth is there, in printed form and isn't afraid of a bully or a satanist. ;)

I never used to think about them much until I met a man in a parking lot just overflowing with zeal, and he handed me a Gospel tract. In fact he handed me five of them and five to my friends. I got his number because I had seriously never seen anyone so excited and passionate about souls and the message of Jesus Christ!

We have become good friends and he has got me into the "tract business". Often times he gives me shopping sacks full of them and over a few months, I've gotten a taste of what most people will read and what I like personally.

I really am a fan of Chick tracts, not only because they are comics but because the messages are very good. Usually a person is more apt to pick up a comic book rather than a pamphlet entitled "Turn from your sins" or "Repent or ye shall likewise perish". Now I know Jack Chick gets a lot of flack, and sometimes their company philosophy is a bit conceited (Chick tracts are THE BEST!! Nothing else comes close!! etc) but I've seen more people take interest to read these things than many others.

I'm also a fan of Rod and Staff.

Anyways what's your techniques and what do you like best?

I like most of the tracts from Living Waters, they have unique tracts with solid messages.

They have a Curved Illusion tract (2 piece, was pink and blue now they are red and blue) that is really cool.

Both pieces are the same size but when held side by side one looks bigger than the other and most people really like them and are appreciative when given them, they have a good message on the back. Good way to get the message into peoples hands.

Somehow this reminds me of the Waldenses.

Go well

The only time I would probably ever use a tract is if there was a language/communication barrier. Other than that, I'm not a fan of them for the most part. I particularly don't like the Jack Chick method/style and even feel that many of these could be counter-productive to sharing the gospel. But that may not be the kind of input you are looking for in here. :)

I am quickly reaching the conclusion that what I have heard in the beginning but found to hard to live and preferred to find short cuts instead may be actually be true.

Live a holy life.

I have been told people are attracted to and listen to those who truly live the faith. The person who told me was one of those persons and I must say I was attracted him because of the life and relationship he lived with God. Seems people who can actually love and pray for their enemies and the live the rest of the beatitudes become able to communicate and lead others into the life they have with Christ. God help me become one of these people.

It would seem from your own story that the mans life made more of an impression than the tracts did.

I know that some people do not like tracts, before I was saved I'd see someone handing out tracts and I'd head the other way. Before I was saved I thought I was going to maybe squeak by and get into heaven, after all I never killed anyone. Before I was saved I had heard that JESUS was the Son of GOD, but that was it - I did not know who HE is, that HE died for my sins and rose from the grave three days later and for that I would have gone to hell.

We Christians need to plant seeds - GOD can use a tract to save someone just as easy as HE can use a verbal witness encounter, either way we have to be standing up for the Gospel and share our faith in CHRIST.

Millions of people are going to die and go to hell without JESUS. Many of those people think they will be going to heaven but oh what a tragic day it will be to stand in judgment and not have repented and put their faith in JESUS CHRIST.

At some point in a witness encounter the fact that the person is a sinner and needs those sins forgiven by JESUS has to be brought up - many people are uncomfortable talking about this, a good Gospel tract does this for us.

I get my tracts from Gospel Tract Society. They are free or you can make a donation. They are constantly coming out with new tracts... Also, as mentioned in another post, Living Waters, with Ray Comfort, have great, eye-catching tracts, also.

When I give out tracts, I let people know that they are not of the "Jehovah Witness" nature!!!! Most non-Christians do not want anything from Jehovah Witness folks. Amen.

Can I show you a little literature here? Obviously living your life is very important, and definitely the most crucial. But let's not rule out tracts altogether. Here's another viewpoint from a Chick tract called "The Letter".

Hi *hope*, I'd like to point out that there are many "Christians" out there who say "witnessing is merely living your life before people". I'd say, what about the ones you don't know? What if they have no Christian friends or relatives? Chances are if you're faithful then they will end up finding a tract somewhere and learning about Jesus.

I think it's a lame excuse to say "well I'll just live my life before people" and dismiss the tract thing. Both are very important.

Anyways I'm not discouraging you but I've heard the same excuse many times over.

They more than likely got deleted.

I've gotten more censorship on this board than almost anyone I know. :D

Maybe I'm just too extreme for most Christians?

That is a shame.

Maybe it is a little too convicting.

The way things are going in this country there may be a day that we are unable to share the Gospel openly, while we can we should be out there telling the unsaved about our Saviour.

You know, before we are censored for being to offensive.

I love Chick Tracts!!!!
Yes, some of them are a little "in your face" but there are like literally 100 to choose from so I just choose the ones that gradually build to "the point."
Jesus is coming back soon, and the world is getting to the point where Christians are being singled out as a people, and a religion, to silence.
STOP BEING SILENT!

Jesus said "GO YE UNTO ALL THE EARTH," not "Sit around and hope that people watch you and realize how great you are."

I am sure this post will get deleted too, but people need to stop being lazy and afraid. Jesus' last commandment while on earth was this:

Matt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

I love Gospel tracts! Chick Tracts are very good Gospel tracts. However, there are a few places where you can get free Gospel tracts at as well. Two of the sites that I know of are:

http://www.fellowshiptractleague.org/

http://www.libertygospeltracts.com/

The tracts from both of these sites use the King James Version and are very Biblical.

I also like the tracts put out by the American Tract Society. :)
