"By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharoah's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward." Hebrews 11:24-26

Wow! What an amazing testimony. Most of us know the story of Moses, but how many of us really take the time to consider it's impact? This is just a snippet of his life, but it's amazing. He had so many treasures going for him in Egypt. He was rich. He had slaves, he had it good! But then he realized that there is so much more than what the eyes can see. There is so much more than this world.
How many of us get caught up in our worldly treasures? Our worldly ways? Moses had a choice. He could either live more than comfortably, or he could live among his own people and be severely mistreated. He picked to be mistreated. How many of us do that? How many times do we choose to live comfortably, to act in a way which will cause us to be accepted by men, in turn causing us to reject the ways of the Lord? Proverbs 29:25 says "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe." We can fear man's reaction to us and therefore live a comfortable life, friends with everyone, but in doing so we cannot fully serve God. We have to make the decision. Enjoying the pleasures of this world, of sin only lasts for a short time. Our lives are but a vapor. But for those of us who choose to throw off the flesh, we will be persecuted for a short time, and then live in eternity with our God. It's up to you. What choice will you make?
