Luke 12:6-7 (New International Version)

6] Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7] Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Our God Is Not Silent

Our God Is Not Silent

Our Lord used a tiny sparrow to show the depth of His Father's love for His children. If He watches over the most insignificant little bird of the air, we can rest assured that He keeps His eye on us. We know that His presence is everywhere, including within our hearts. Yet in spite of this, I think that nearly every believer, at one time or another has had the discouraging feeling of being abandoned by God. Scripture teaches us that we can't trust our feelings, but we can trust the One who holds us securely in the palm of His hand. Francis Schaeffer wrote, "Our God is with us, and He is silent. Any feelings of abandonment will disappear when we approach Him in humble adoration."

FOR TODAY: Dear Lord, remove from me all discouragement and doubt, and replace them with hope and trust.
