No where in the bible can we more easily see Godís hand manipulating circumstance to reveal truth than in the story of the wise men.

They came from the east seeking Jesus and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

East in the scripture represents judgement: adam and eve were cast out
to the east of the garden; the armies from east came to bring Gods judgement on Israel; Jesus will come from the east to judge the world.

Gold represents the glory of God. In the Old Testament God commanded that the tabernacle be filled with gold as a picture of his glory. The ark was gold inlay inside and out. Heavens streets are paved with gold that reflect his glory.

How do we give God the glory? In the same way in which the wise men gave God the glory, by acknowledging Jesus as the son of God.

Frankincense represents prayer. In the tabernacle was an alter of incense which burned day and night. The bible says that our prayers are as a sweet aroma to God. What is the sweetest prayer that came be offered to God? Prayers of repentance acknowledging our sin and receiving the gift of his son as savior of the world.

Myrrh is an oily perfume that represents fellowship and preservation. It was not only used by women as a perfume but it was also used to embalm the dead. Therefore it represents a fellowship that brings about preservation; it is a picture of salvation.

the interpertation is therefore:
Wise men who reconize their sin before God give him the glory by acknowledging his son, seek his forgiveness in prayer and receive his son as lord and savior, only then can we enter into a fellowship that will lead to our eternal preservation on the day of judgment.

now that is good just if Adam would have done that in the garden or even Eve just to have taken responsibility for their actions
