My dear loving Rose is to have surgery on her back tomorrow morning (26 December).

She has had issues with her back for many years, and we met with a neurosurgeon who said that her back was very unstable (she had a CT scan 6 weeks ago, and since then has gone from a grade 1 shift to a grade 2).

I am very thankful that this was caught, and that we have been provided with insurance (the surgery is to cost over $65,000.00 !). She has had a cold with a cough, and we have prayed for relief from that. Due to the instability of her back they do not want to delay the surgery unless she shows signs of an infection but the coughing would be miserable in the recovery.

The surgeon plans to fuse L5 and S1, and add rods with bolts to stabilize her back. She is to spend 4 -5 days in the hospital.

Please pray for her, that all goes well with the surgery and that we are both able to be a good witness to all in the hospital.

Blessings to all, and thank you for your prayers.

Steelerbabe, MercyChild, ServantofTruth, & SFASH,

We go to the hospital in 4 hours, thak you for your prayers. I have been sitting out here in the living room so as not to disturb her sleep. She has coughed a few times, but nothing like she had been.

I appreciate your prayers, and will try to get online to post something tomorrow.

Blessings,

Thank you SO MUCH for your prayers. This is long, but we have much to be thankful for that I want to share.

I am typing this from Rose's room in the hospital. She is sleeping now, and comfortable.

Just over a week ago we met with a neurosurgeon we were referred to after her primary care doc said there might be a problem. He explained that she appeared to have a 'grade 1' shift of her lowest vertebra.

In the consult, the neurosurgeon (later learned he was the best in the region) said the shift had progressed to grade 2 and she needed surgery as soon as possible. He said he needed to remove a damaged disk, and cut part of the L5 vertibre to fuse it to the sacrum, and secure the repair with titanium rods and lag bolts.

We struggled over canceling the surgery after she caught a cold the weekend before. It turns out it was good we did not, as the surgeon discovered while in surgery that that her condition had worsened to a 'grade 3'. Apparently a grade 3 can cause cause lasting damage to the spinal cord. The surgery took longer then planned, and the surgeon said that if it had been any worse she would have had to go to a specialized hospital and the procedure would have required they go in from the front (considerably more complicated). We are VERY thankful the the Lord provided us with an expert for the procedure.

Rose has had other surgeries, and never any problems. This time her kidneys decided to shut down shortly after the surgery. Yesterday and last night passed slowly as they scanned her kidneys and consulted with specialists to figure out what was going on. There was much prayer offered last night, early this morning, they started working again. Thank you Lord!

Rose's cough has not been much of a problem, but appreciate continuing prayer as she recovers. We are very thankful for everyone's prayers and will keep you posted.

Thank You!!!

Thank you all, your prayers were answered and my wife is home now. Her kidneys are functioning normally, and she has had little problem with her cold/cough. Her back is sore, but tolerable.

Please know that the Lord has heard and answered your prayers, thank you for your faithfulness, and

Thanking the Lord for having provided for this serious operation.

Thankyou God because you did not open a way for her treatment provision only to leave her in the middle of it. By your stripes she will be healed, in Jesus' name.
