Philemon 1:15-16 (New King James Version)

15] For perhaps he departed for a while for this purpose, that you might receive him forever, 16] no longer as a slave but more than a slave—a beloved brother, especially to me but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

What a wonderful word picture Paul uses to illustrate our coming to Christ in the form of oneness. This servant ran from his master, but he went back. Such are we. We have run from Christ in our sins, but He has great mercy and pardon to receive us back. He receives us, not as second rate traitors, but as beloved sons and daughters. Christ is so different for He unconditionally pardons our hurtful sins and loves us with greater love that no human can fathom. What a contrast to the wordly norm. Do you know how much He loves you? Are you straying from His presence for some reason? Come back, He will take you as you are and restore you to better that what you were before.

FOR TODAY: Read Luke 15:11-32; Rejoice in God's loving restoration.
