I'm a blogger. I love to blog, but I love reading blogs even more! A leader at my church came up with a very interesting and encouraging idea. He invited people to help him compile a list of 1,000 beautiful things right there on his blog by leaving comments. It was very uplifting to see what people had to say, and together they were able to pass 1,000 in less than a week, and if i'm not mistaken, they're still going for it!

So I thought I'd post it again here. Post whatever you find to be encouraging, whether it be a song, a verse, a quote, a sight, an idea ... Anything! And remember to tell us why!

I'll get us started:

Rainbows! The sight of them, yes, but also God's promise to never again destroy the Earth with a flood.

Hearing a small child call your name. Something about just makes me feel happy inside. :bounce:

Kittens meowing.

Okay, now it's your turn to add to the list!

I love to observe wildlife especially birds; but I am also very fond of deer.

I don't get to hike as I once did so often I gaze at a lovely framed photograph my son took of three deer running. And also I recently bought a painting (original) which is a treasure buy from Good Will..it's of a lone deer in a meadow.

"Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert." (Isaiah 35:6 TNIV)

Great idea, thanks for starting this thread! :)

Puppies make me smile and warm my heart(I love cute and furry things). I also love looking at flowers and trees. Everything in God's creation has beauty and warmth. I love rainbows, the sun makes me so happy and gives me hope (the dawning of a new day). :) My fiance and my family and friends bring me so much joy!! I could go on and on........... :)

Great idea with this thread, thank you.

Driving back to town late in the evening last week I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets ive ever seen, pink and purple clouds with thin rays of light glaring thru them from the sun hiding slightly below the horizon. I see representations of the Lord's glory in it all . I beleive God's glory will be absolutley breathtaking.

Oh, my!!!

Feeling the presence of my Savior!!! Glory to God.:pp:pp

Enjoying warm fellowship with my family and Church family.

Having the Lord show you the answer to something or just show you something and you later, say, "Oh, that's what the Lord meant!"

Seeing more and more beauty each day that God created for us to enjoy...and remember where it came from!

Looking at new babies through a nursery window....what a miracle.

Holding hands with an innocent child who is looking into your eyes for answers.

Feeling the Presence of the Lord when I have too much pain to deal with......
Feeling the love of my husband while he takes care of me physically.......
Feeling the love of friendships......
Always having 1 or 2 cats on my bed to keep me company during the day and especially during the nights when I can't sleep......
Going out of the house for a few hours once a week......
Listening to our birdies in our livingroom, waking us up every morning.....

I could go on for a while...... :)

Love you,
Mieke

Yes, like Miepie, I also appreciate the blessing of my two wonderful (boy and girl )kitty friends each day. As they greet me when I come home, share my nap time, and one even gives me a shampoo (she thinks she is my mother and that I am a great big cat, I think).

God's creatures are such gifts. :)

And God's creation blesses me daily. :pp

Genesis 1: 25 "God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. "NIV

I think it's beautiful to hear people talk about their marriages that have lasted over 30 and 40 years and beyond, especially when they are still able to look at each other and fall in love like it was their wedding day all over again.

We are celebrating our 48th this summer.

I think it is beautiful when we can look at our son or daughter's hair turning gray and rejoice in the gift they have been to us for many years taking particular joy in their parenthood of our precious grand children. :saint:

These beautiful lyrics give me chills every time:

"Death could not hold You,
The grave could not keep You
You are alive! You are alive!"

This hymn by Robert Robinson:

Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
mount of thy redeeming love.

Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
hither by thy help I'm come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger,
interposed his precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it,
seal it for thy courts above.

Every time I think of those words in red...this is a beautiful thing...
Jesus sought me as a stranger, interposing His precious blood.
And though I am prone to wander, I do pray His goodness will bind my heart to Him.

The love of God- the most beautiful thing I know.

Lovely old hymn but please always include and please insert the title. I assume it is the first line but should be included anyway because of copyright laws on open threads or post it here and I can edit it in for you. Thanks.

Spring flowers
A full moon on a clear winter's night
Hugs from my children (and DH)
Sunrise when it's still quiet outside
A gentle rain falling when I'm about to go to sleep
The pretty colors of fall leaves
Blue sky with cotton ball shaped clouds
A clear, babbling brook
Butterflies

Okay, I think that's enough! :)

The blood of Jesus
The grace of God
The rugged and shameful cross that our Lord made beautiful and mighty
Forgiveness of sins
Escape from temptation
The body of believers
Likemindedness among His sheep
Reconciliation to God through His grace and the blood of our Lord
Those moments you're with friends and can't write in a book how wonderful it feels
Worship in the house of God
His presence

The strength of a tree. It's roots go down deep. It remains a tree even when tossed back and forth by storms and weather.

Holding the hand of someone who is elderly.
Listening to rain on a tin roof
Laying in a feather bed with soft warm quilts on a cold day
Listening to a fire
Walking in the warm rain
Rainbows
Running my fingers through my child's hair while she sleeps
Puppy breath
Having Jesus hug you from the inside out

God`s word promises such as:

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 24,25.

They encourage me to fight the good fight of faith :D

God bless you

There are sooo many beautiful things to me...;)

The feeling that comes over you in church when you just know God is there..

The awe of my children serving God...son preaching, singing, playing instruments and my daughter playing the piano...

Listening to the elderly singing at the care facility that we have services at on several Sundays...they don't even need books and their joy is so humbling...

Seeing a child get saved...

Watching the children I teach actually grasp a story in Children's church...

Watching our baby goats being born..

The small things my hubby does for me...like cooking

Seeing our horse(Bright Eyes) run..

Hearing our birds talking and singing...except when they are shreiking:lol:

The smell and colors of the flowers blooming in the yard...

As God said in the following verse...it is all very good..

Ge 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
