We hear nothing of Joseph after Jesus was 12 years old and his parents lost track of him in Jerusalem. We hear much more about Mary. Logic dictates that Joseph must have died. The Bible does not say that, but we can only assume. Also, while Jesus was on the cross, he instructed John, to take care of his mother. Why would He have done that if Joseph were still living.

I've heard that Joseph died during Jesus's childhood. That would explain his absence at the cross.

I was under the assumption that he was much older than Mary. If that was the case, it makes sense to assume that he had died.

I think God in His mercy took Joseph before Jesus was crucified.

That what Catholics and other Christians who may claim that Mary was a perpetual virgin believe. They believe that Joseph was a old man when they married and that Mary's other children were her step-children from Joseph's first and deceased wife. The Bible is completely silent on that. And yet it does say that "Joseph did not have relations with Mary until Jesus was born." So I do not believe that she remained a virgin her whole life. The truth is - we don't know how old either one of them were except to surmise that she was fairly young and we have no factual evidence of when Joseph died nor how.

yeah.

He still could have been a geezer who married a younger woman though.

Maybe that is what killed him.

As good a cause of death as any I suppose.

I find a plethora of sites across the web that list Joseph's birthdate and deathdate as: 90 BC - 18 AD; and list the sources as either 'Apocryphal Sources or non-Canonical Sources), but have not been able to actually find a reference to what/who the source is that originally posed these dates.

Maybe someone else has researched this further, and can add their findings.

We should demand that he release his birth certificate. Probably says he was born in Kenya or something. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories#Born_ in_Kenya)
