In order to end three day of protests following the acquittal of Christian AsiaBibi (Aasiya Noreen) on Wednesday, the government of Pakistan has struck a deal with the political organization behind the protests (TLP [Tehreek-e-LabbaikPakistan]). One of the issues agreed was that the government would start the legal process to ban Asia Bibi from leaving Pakistan (where her life is in danger). It is not clear if the ban is already in place or not. Media reports are contradictory. AsiaBibiís lawyer had fled Pakistan in fear of his life, and Asia Bibiís husband, Ashiq Masih, has plead for asylum for his family in the UK, US or Canada.
