  • A Great Story

    A Great Story

He almost didnít see the elderly lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her. Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didnít look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold....

  • Smokey Bear

    Smokey Bear

In 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour in Hawaii. In the spring of the following year a Japanese submarine surfaced off the coast of California and lobbed a number of shells into an oil field near Santa Barbara and immediately adjacent to the Los Padres national forest. Very shortly thereafter, on the back of public concern for the integrity of their forests and national fervour in the wake of that attack upon their homeland, there began a public service advertising campaign promoting fire...

  • The Beam and Nail

    The Beam and Nail

I recently did a couple of sculptures for my church, Gateway Assembly. One of them was simply 3 hand forged nails that were made into a cross. One large one about 12Ē tall and 2 smaller ones about 6Ē long each, crossed over each other and wrapped with wire to form the crossbeam. These were then embedded into a stone. This was a very nice sculpture, although it is something that has been done before in various versions. The other piece was a bit different.. I thought about it quite a bit before ...

    3. Action - Journaled On

This article actually began on 6 Dec 10 with the previous article titled: 1: Journaled On

27 Dec 10: I am at the chapel praying right now and something that I find myself praying, I now have to write up into my journal. I was talking with God about how I can place myself in a hostile environment to my physical body and due to the protection I have, withstand or persevere in such a hostile environment. Iím talking about how I am now alone with God, in this unheated and uninsulated...

    A close friendís son...

A close friendís sonÖ. Last Saturday, the church was filled with people, old folks - young folks, family Ė friends, suited folks -street folks, believers Ė and suspected nonbelievers amongst the hundreds within the pews, all gathered to remember a young 29 year old man who died at the hand of a gunshot wound to the head a week before. I had known Adam as a young boy in Sunday school, seeing him grow up just a few years ahead of my eldest child, then seeing him a part of the youth group, bei...

  • God: The New Testament Perspective

    God: The New Testament Perspective

One thing I have observed is that before salvation the question arises, "How far can a man fall before it is impossible for God to save him?" Among those who are saved the same question arises, "How far can a believer fall before it is impossible for God to save him?" The question is always the same just as eternal security is always on the minds of the insecure. What's it going to take to make God angry so that he throws his hands up and leaves? These questions come from an immature, underdevelo...

I Don't Even Know His Last Name...

My daughter and her husband Tom met him first. My daughter told me one day in May, "You should see what they are doing in the Children's Church room." She went on to say there was a homeless man that had started attending their church and he had volunteered to help her husband brighten up the large room. "He can really paint," she said. My daughter and her husband live next door to us, and I noticed that her husband was going almost every day after work to help the man paint and spruce up t...

    The Counterfeit God

    Isa 14:12-14 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, that didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; and I will also sit upon the mount of congregation, in the uttermost parts of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

I will be like the Most High. Here we have a revelation into the heart and mind of Satan. W...

  • Heaven's Point of View

    Heaven's Point of View

ďSurely, this was not the way it was intended to beĒ. These sentiments were echoed back and forth across heaven. Wonder, consternation, and astonishment was written almost indelibly upon the faces of every angel and every creature that graced Godís universe. How could anyone have been prepared for that? I know I wasnít, and looking at the expressions on the faces of those around me, I could see they werenít expecting anything like what we were witnessing either. Sure, we knew the prophecies, even...

  • Miracle.

    Miracle.

Miracle I must admit, until about 2 months ago, I didn't believe that much in miracles. For everyone else, yeah sure, but for me? Nah! I knew that Daddy answered prayers, as He has done so many times for me, taking away pain and anguish or fear, but a miracle of healing? Not for me! I was dreaming about it sometimes, how it would change my life, and what it would mean to Charles, my husband, if I would heal again. Maybe I'd have to find a job, while I enjoy so much being together with him 24 hour...

  • It's Time - 22 April 2017
    by CFJ
"It's Time", 22 April. Dit was 'n mooi en 'n groot dag, maar watter perspektief moet mens koester?

Ek is oortuig dat so groot Christelike byeenkoms vir baie mense 'n ommekeer in

  • Another dream combined with more miracles
    by miepie
This is the sequence to my previous article "Miracles and a dream". I had another dream a few nights ago. It was about Charles and I taking a day's trip on the train. We went all the way down south to see as much of the country as possible. Train cards are available at local stores that are less expensive in the summer and fall. Two people can then travel across the whole country cheaper than the price of a single fair from the train station in winter or spring. I also dreamed that we we...

  • Miracles and a dream
    by miepie
Daddy gave me a dream. It was about the Pharisee and the man who smote his breast (Luke 18). He put me on the top of the Temple, and let me see them clearly. I asked questions and He answered me. It was so beautiful that I just enjoyed being up there. Daddy explained a lot to me and then I indulged those answers with hunger for more. I didn't understand why God gave me that opportunity until a few days later. While I was having a little argument with my husband, (happens in the best marriages too),...

  • How the Judges of Israel Overlapped
    by Cyberseeker
The history of the Judges bridges the time from the Exodus to the Kingdom of Israel, however, when we sum up the rule of the Judges, a problem arises. Add them all up, plus the times of oppression such as the Midianite period of seven years, then tack on the forty years in the desert plus the reigns of Saul and David, and what do we get? 640! On face value, that's about 160 years longer than the Exodus to Solomon as stated in the official record of the Kings. (1 Kings 6:1) There is a reason. T...

  • Two spirits, one space
    by Senormac
When I moved to this area of Oregon from Southern California, I was keenly aware of the different "spirits" that were here. People are friendly but also people are into a lot of weird occult, lifestyle, and earth energy practices. The tree huggers shop at the same organic grocery stores that the Buddists shop at and the Amazonian mystism followers ride their bicycles on the same path as cannabis growers. In the yearly city celebration parade a more eclectic group of folks you will not see, from...

  • A time to pray
    by Graham Hickey
Is it a time to pray?

Very often as I journey through the day I hear of groups that are setting up against the Christian faith, or I see other faiths doing things really well. This screams out at me. As a Christian church these things can be missing in our worship and life, and perhaps through highlighting other faiths. Is God is trying to compel us to act? Jesus prayed before he started his earthly ministry (before he was baptised), and before he was arrested to be crucified. ...
