  • For-Sale

    For-Sale

Is your For-Sale sign the brightest and cleanest part about you? If you were to walk by a car, truck, furniture, painting or just about anything you can imagine at various yard sales in your area, do you look only at the exterior of the item you plan to purchase? What do you look for when purchasing an item that you plan to use, to improve upon, to make new again, and to put back out into the world to show the world, what you can do to the item you purchased? Imagine being that car, truck, f...

    Thermometers And Thermostats

I have been doing some thinking about something ... about thermometers and thermostats, of all things. I picked up one of my dictionaries and here is what I found according to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language,.(Fourth Edition copyright ©2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company. Updated 2009.) Here are the definitions of a thermometer and a thermostat.

    n. thermometer an instrument for measuring temperature. an instrument (usually a thin, glass tube with mercury

  • Liberty

    Liberty

“Liberty” and “freedom” have been the rallying cries of millions throughout history. From teenagers rebelling from parental authority, to ethnic tribes rebelling against unjust government, liberty has been the ultimate dream of mankind since Eden. Any insurrection against existing authority can be seen, depending on your perspective, as a bid for freedom. Even Lucifer’s rebellion in heaven can be understood as a bid for freedom from whatever rules and laws that he considered unjust or unfair. So...

    The Psychological War

“Capture their minds and their hearts and souls will follow.” Author Unknown

If you think about it, our minds were captured long ago. When Adam and Eve were still in the Garden of Eden, Eve was deceived, Adam was disobedient and ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This was the only Commandment God had given them, not to eat from this tree or you will die. Satan captured Eve’s mind through deception, and A...

  • Baptism of Fire

    Baptism of Fire

Growing up as a youth, I was always somewhat of a pyro. I never had a fireplace at my house but I was always quite fascinated by fire. In following Jesus, I’ve also wondered about fire in scripture. Why did Jesus say “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled (Luke 12:49)”? The two disciples on the road to Emmaus felt their hearts burning as Jesus taught them from the scriptures on his death and resurrection. It was in the Spring of 2005 and at a 10pm set,...

    Mr. Right, except for...

When I answered the knock at the front door of our family home I never expected to see standing there the most handsome man I had ever seen. I mean, to me he was absolutely drop-dead gorgeous and I fell in love with him that very instant. To back track a bit, he had been calling me for a week or more, but would not tell me where he got my phone number. I liked his voice, I liked the way he laughed easily. But I did want to know WHERE he got my number before i would agree to meet him. Let me...

    Heaven's Records

Many have labeled the idle mind as the devil’s playground. While this seems to be a very sound principle, I still like to let my mind drift every once in a while. I especially enjoy pondering on the things of God. I tend to think about strange and unknown areas until my brain hurts. In spite of digging into the word and over analyzing until blood runs out of my ears, I just can’t find all of the answers. I like to think about things like the seemingly endless possibilities of time. I’

  • Be not afraid.

    Be not afraid.

Phil. 3:12-14; 1 Cor. 9:24-27; 2 Tim. 4:7. The above reveal that Paul likened his Christian walk to a race. This race however was not a race to win, but one to finish. Satan's focus is to stop us from finishing the race. Fear is his greatest weapon, for fear negates faith, and without faith, it is impossible to please God. We are living in a time of immense uncertainty, and peoples hearts are even now failing them for fear of what is to come upon the earth. Fear of the unknown is bringing str...

    A Special Report From Jerusalem

There were no newspapers, magazines, radios, televisions or reporters two thousand years ago. What would it have been like if there had been broadcasting back then? For a few minutes lets imagine there were reporters. We'll turn on our radio so we can hear the news events of that time. Ready?
    The listening audience is involved...

    Learning To Be An Overcomer

1 John 5:4-5 – “…..for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”

I'm writing this for those who struggle.

Let’s do a little thinking together. I want you to concentrate on the sin or the addictive behavior that you struggle with the most - the behavior that has you gripped by the throat. Do you have it in your mind?...

  • It's Time - 22 April 2017
    by CFJ
"It's Time", 22 April. Dit was 'n mooi en 'n groot dag, maar watter perspektief moet mens koester?

  • Another dream combined with more miracles
    by miepie
This is the sequence to my previous article "Miracles and a dream". I had another dream a few nights ago. It was about Charles and I taking a day's trip on the train. We went all the way down south to see as much of the country as possible. Train cards are available at local stores that are less expensive in the summer and fall. Two people can then travel across the whole country cheaper than the price of a single fair from the train station in winter or spring. I also dreamed that we we...

  • Miracles and a dream
    by miepie
Daddy gave me a dream. It was about the Pharisee and the man who smote his breast (Luke 18). He put me on the top of the Temple, and let me see them clearly. I asked questions and He answered me. It was so beautiful that I just enjoyed being up there. Daddy explained a lot to me and then I indulged those answers with hunger for more. I didn't understand why God gave me that opportunity until a few days later. While I was having a little argument with my husband, (happens in the best marriages too),...

  • How the Judges of Israel Overlapped
    by Cyberseeker
The history of the Judges bridges the time from the Exodus to the Kingdom of Israel, however, when we sum up the rule of the Judges, a problem arises. Add them all up, plus the times of oppression such as the Midianite period of seven years, then tack on the forty years in the desert plus the reigns of Saul and David, and what do we get? 640! On face value, that's about 160 years longer than the Exodus to Solomon as stated in the official record of the Kings. (1 Kings 6:1) There is a reason. T...

  • Two spirits, one space
    by Senormac
When I moved to this area of Oregon from Southern California, I was keenly aware of the different "spirits" that were here. People are friendly but also people are into a lot of weird occult, lifestyle, and earth energy practices. The tree huggers shop at the same organic grocery stores that the Buddists shop at and the Amazonian mystism followers ride their bicycles on the same path as cannabis growers. In the yearly city celebration parade a more eclectic group of folks you will not see, from...

  • A time to pray
    by Graham Hickey
Is it a time to pray?

Very often as I journey through the day I hear of groups that are setting up against the Christian faith, or I see other faiths doing things really well. This screams out at me. As a Christian church these things can be missing in our worship and life, and perhaps through highlighting other faiths. Is God is trying to compel us to act? Jesus prayed before he started his earthly ministry (before he was baptised), and before he was arrested to be crucified. ...
