    The aunt and cousin are back from Japan.

    I've interviewed them some, via phone, but not much, so far.

    I'm continuing to do research on Japan.

    Japan is also known as Nippon and Nihon.

    By extension, the words Nipponese and Nihonese mean the same thing as Japanese.

    So far, I haven't learned as much as I'd hoped I would.

    From what I've been reading, Japan is divided into regions, and the regions are divided into prefectures.

    From there, it gets confusing.

    I'm trying to figure out what Tokyo Metropolis is.

    I'm also reading about Japanese clans.

    There appears to be multiple definitions of "clan" in a Japanese context.

    There are yakuza clans. There are ninja clans. There are clans made up of people that, from what I can tell, are ...

    I've done more research on Japan during the last several days than I'd done in my entire life several days ago.

    Japan is also known as Nippon and Nihon.

    There is what is known as Tokyo Metropolis. If I understand correctly, it was formed in 1943.

    Japan is divided into prefectures. If I understand correctly, Tokyo Metropolis is one of them.

    Right now, I'm mostly doing research on Tokyo Metropolis.
