    Daniel

    Thread Starter: az331

    I've read Daniel maybe 14 times ...I think I am on my 13-14th time on the full Bible. I have always been intrigued by the prophesies but for some strange reason Daniel didnt really jog my deep interest like some other Revelation stuff. I just...

    Ezekiel's Temple Vision

    Thread Starter: Bryan Pergola

    Ezekiel's temple vision has come up in another post and I thought I'd start it on its own, no being sure if it has been covered in long past posts. I have no firm notion in the interpretation of his vision, but do have my leanings. I did have a...

    The Preterist Gap

    Thread Starter: Cyberseeker

    I’ve been somewhat surprised to learn that some Preterists finish Daniels 70th week in AD 70. They postulate a 40 year gap between the “cutting off of Messiah in the midst of the week” and the destruction of the temple in AD 70. We might expect...

    Melchizedek, the angel of the Lord

    Thread Starter: nobleseed

    it is obvious to me that the man who Abraham paid homage to, would had been the same man who visited his tent and prophesied about Isaac and condemn sodom. whom Abraham at that time called Lord. Melchizedek was both priest and king of God and it...

    Jesus will have a son

    Thread Starter: nobleseed

    there is evidence in the bible that Jesus may have a son in the future. Isiah concerning the christ testifies that the will have offspring and revelation 12 prophesies a child who will rule and is taken up to God as an infant to escape satan. and...

    .....I was watching a Hallmark movie on television. It was called 'Remember Sunday'. About a man who due to an aneurysm in his head, had no short term memory. He could not remember what he did yesterday. He could remember back years ago, when he was a very smart man with a very good job. He had worked at the Hubbel Telescope and worked with NASA. But with his short term memory loss, he couldn't remember extremely important things that were happening to him in the 'now'.

    .....Everyday this man was falling in love all over again. With the same girl... When they did finally get together, he tried to tell her that he can't remember...anything. But she's a bit scatter brained herself and lets things slip by like the time she's supposed to be on her job. Then she suddenly remembers and has to make a mad dash for work. She's sometimes late, just because she lets time slip by. So she could not understand why he would stand her up when they had a date and not even call to apologize.

    .....The Hallmark company has a special little saying that pops up on the TV screen at the end of each commercial about their cards. Its a wonderful thing to say. Hallmark says, 'Life is a special occasion.'

    .....Life. Life really is a special occasion.

    Yesterday

    .....Yesterday, April 20th, was my Wedding Anniversary. I was sad all day. Found myself wiping a tear away now and then throughout the day. It was my first Wedding Anniversary without my husband. He lost his battle with Neuro-Endocrine cancer last year in May after our fifty-fifth Wedding Anniversary in April. We didn't go anywhere or celebrate our last Wedding Anniversary together. He was too ill. But I still remember when he motioned for me to come over to him that morning. Told me he wanted to tell me something. I walked the few steps from the couch to him and he reached out and pulled me closer, hugged me as best he could from a wheelchair, and said, "I don't know what I would do without you. I love you. Happy Wedding Anniversary," I bent over and gave him a tight hug and told him I didn't know what I would do without him either.

    .....All day yesterday I caught myself thinking back to the year we dated before we were married and like that man in the Hallmark movie, I think I fell in love with him again each day. I had always wanted a church wedding, but we were married at my parents home. My great-Aunt, a widow, had moved in with us when I was nine months old so she was like my other mother. Shortly before we set the date for our wedding she'd had a stroke that paralyzed her on one side of her body. I knew if she attended my wedding at the church she'd have to go by ambulance and most likely would have been lying down for the ceremony. So rather than put her through that we asked our Pastor to perform the ceremony at our home. Just family and a few close friends. Nothing fancy.

    .....All of this was on my mind yesterday. I am so, so thankful God allowed me to have fifty-five anniversaries with my husband, but I sure do miss him. Those years passed too quickly, as they do for all of us. I've concluded life really is a special occasion. Its even more of a special occasion when you live your life with someone you fall in love with again every day.

    Ephesians 5:15-33
    15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

    16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

    17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

    18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

    19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

    20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

    21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

    22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

    23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

    24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

    25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

    26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

    27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

    28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

    29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

    30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

    31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

    32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

    33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

      I very much enjoyed that. This is the first article I've read here in full (I've clicked on one or two other articles but read just a line or two). I'll be celebrating my 15th anniversary with my wife this weekend. Thank you for reminding me to make this a special event. Thank you for reminding me that I've got to live so that I have no regrets. It's obvious to me that this is how you approached your life with your husband.
