No Distinction...

I do not know how one could read Ephesians 2: 11-22 and come away thinking there are "two peoples of God."

Jews and Gentiles in the 1st century were made into ONE body (Vs. 15), ONE new man (Vs. 14), reconciled both into ONE body through the cross (vs 16), broke down the barrier of the dividing wall (Vs. 14), we BOTH have access in one Spirit to the Father (Vs. 18), we who were formerly far off were brought near by the blood of Christ (Vs. 13), we are no longer aliens but fellow citizens with the Jews (Vs. 19).

He made BOTH groups into ONE (Vs. 14), the WHOLE building is being fitted together into a Holy Temple in the Lord (vs. 21), no longer aliens & strangers but FELLOW citizens with the saints (Vs. 19), you Gentiles were once excluded from the commonwealth of Israel but have been brought near by the Blood of Christ (Vs. 12-13)

How many times and in how many different ways does Paul have to explain to us 2,000 years later that there is NO distinction between us and that there is ONE body of people who believe in Christ (and always has been)

This MAKES the term "Israel" and "The Church" synonymous with each other.

There has been no distinction since the first century and particularly since 70 AD. I might add that the "Jew-Gentile" distinction is an Old Testament/Old Covenant Covenantal distinction that has been done away with in Christ & is a total misnomer to even use the term today!

It is not a New Covenant distinction or term, and I do not use it anymore. There is ONE people of God called the "Bride", comprised of anyone in the world who believes by faith in Christ, without distinction.

God does not have a "Bride" (New Testament) and a "Wife" (Old Testament)."

Anyone, regardless of racial distinctions such as Jew/Gentile, who believe in Christ are the true and ONLY "Abraham's descendants." (Gal. 3: 6-9 & 26-29)
