Jews and Gentiles, who’s who?

Rate this Entry
I believe the terms "Jews" and “Gentiles" are irrelevant and obsolete in the New Covenant era.

Those terms have had no relevance since 70 AD.

The terms Jews vs Gentiles are OLD Covenant terms.

Since He has made both groups into one through the Blood of the NEW Covenant and breaking down the barrier of the Dividing Wall (Eph. 2: 11-22, Gal. 3: 26-29), there is no need of, and in fact, no such thing as Jews and Gentiles in the NEW Covenant age in the eyes of God covenentally.

That ended in 70 AD with the final & complete destruction of the OLD Covenant types and shadows, of which "Jews and Gentiles" were a part of.

Now everyone in the world is just as the New Testament says we are, Believers or Unbelievers, not with subcategories of Jewish or Gentiles believers an unbelievers.

    The scripture makes a difference between jewish believers and the gentile believers. The jewish believers are called the elect.

    Paul agreed with you bluesky when he wrote in Ephesians 2:11-16 how the Jew and Gentile are Reconciled through Christ:
    11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands) — 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
    14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

    This may help

    Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

    ( when ishmaels covenant was in effect exclusively to the seed of abram

    That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

    But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

    Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

    And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

    For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

    Now therefore ye ( Gentiles) are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

    In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

    In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”
    **Ephesians‬ *2:10-22‬ *KJV‬‬

    “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
    **Galatians‬ *3:28‬ *KJV‬‬

    There are still some promises in the Old Testament, which are only assigned to the jewish believers.

    Where does it say that the "Jews are the elect?" What Jews are you referring to? Those who do not believe in Christ? Or those who do? If they do believe in Christ, they are not Jews, they are Christians, as race is irrelevant according to Paul in Romans 4 and Galatians 3. The "Jews" are not under the Old Covenant anymore and have not been since the first century. If they are "Jews" who do Not believe in Christ, then they are "cut off, according to Romans 11 and elsewhere. They are then therefore common UN-believers and non-Christians; they are not the elect or the chosen people.
    Believing Jews and Christians have been made into ONE, creating "one new man" according to Paul in Ephesians 2. The barrier of the Diving Wall has been brought down by Christ. Now today and since 70 AD, there is either believer or unbeliever in the world, just as the NEW Covenant says. There are no more racial subcategories of the saved, only the saved.
    To say that the New Testament made distinctions between Gentiles and Jews was only applicable in the period of grace between 33 AD and 70 AD so the Jews could get on board and believe the Gospel of Christ. Those who did not, DOUBLED DOWN in their apostasy and hatred of Christ and descended into their final rebellion against God. In 70 AD God destroyed the visible Old Covenant system, types and shadows and the Covenant people, and the Church, comprised of believing Jews and Gentiles went on its merry way to bring the Gospel worldwide

    What are the unfulfilled Promises? Why is it based on race and DNA? Why is it not based on faith, as the Gospel clearly demands? *****What is it that Jesus Covenentally did NOT fulfill to completeness by his Death, burial and Resurrection and ascension? Galatians 3: 16 says : "Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ. " Therefore the promises are in Christ and only IN and THROUGH HIM. they literally were not made tot he "Fathers, Abraham, Issac and Jacob, but to Christ, and can only be fulfilled IN and THROUGH HIM. Romans 4: 13 says " For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. " Faith in Christ is required to have promises fulfilled.

    What is is that "Jewish people" need more than they can Already have by belief in Christ. What could Christ possibly give them they cannot already have by faith? He did it ALL. It is finished! (John 19:30)

    Phenomenal answer! Totally Biblically correct ! Its hard to believe that people cannot see this and still insist on racial salvific distinctions and unfilled Continental promises through Christ. He made both groups in to one 20 centuries ago!
