  • Jesus led captivity captive...?

When Ps. 68:18 / Eph. 4:8 says that Jesus led captivity captive, does this mean that He led sin, death, and hell captive, or does it mean that He led those righteous souls in Sheol to the Father in heaven?

It means that He led those righteous souls who were once slaves to sin and in bondage to it in a victorious procession and giving these "has been" captives as gifts to the church as some apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ(Eph 4:11-12)

The Ephesians passage is in reference to unity. Captivity captive means there is no one captive by another. The Psalm quoted is a reference to the victory songs of Israel, see Judges 5:12 for an example of the song being used.
