Question about 2 Chronicles 27:9 and 28:1

In 2nd Chronicles 27:9 it says that when Johtham died that Ahaz became king. Then in 28:1 it says that Ahaz unlike his father David. I thought it just said that Johtham was his father?????

'like his father David' is said in the same way the Jews talked of 'father Abraham' meaning David (and Abraham) was their ancestor.
