  • Isaiah 6

    These verses in Isaiah 6 have been resonating with me lately. I was broken this morning over not being bold for Christ. I was broken for being prideful and self centered. The almighty power displayed in this setting just gives to the magnificence of God! And it is just amazing how Isaiah, in the presence of God, sees how small and feeble he is! "Woe to me, I am ruined!" Then it is with the amazing saving grace that "Your guilt is taken away, your sin atoned for!"

    Isaiah 6:1-8
    I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another:
    “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
    the whole earth is full of his glory.”

    4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
    5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
    6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

    8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

    And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

    I am just in awe with the amazing power of God! It is ALL about HIM! It is ALL about HIM! We need to make HIM known in this generation. We need to stand up for Jesus Christ! When the Lord asks "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" We need to be shouting out just what Isaiah did - "HERE I AM! SEND ME! SEND ME! I WILL GO FOR YOU IN YOUR NAME! I WILL DO YOUR WORK!"

    Re: Isaiah 6

    Amen my brother, that's the way I feel as well. Too many have knowledge of the revealed word and choose to be silent. Even in this forum there are those that are reluctant to speak up for fear of being embarrassed because they lack knowledge.

    I was under the impression that was what this forum was all about, trying to share our knowledge that others could be encouraged.

    When I visit forums concerning how my computer works or my cell phone forums, I am always grateful to those that can share a tip, a app, or a solution that can help my device operate better.

    We should focus on Jesus and not on the person writing the thread that we all may be edified.

      I find it a bit weird that the Seraphim Use two wings to cover their face, and two to cover their feet while two wings are used for flying so when they fly, you wouldn't be able to tell they were humanoid at least from a distance.
      James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
