I'm directing this message to those of you who for whatever reason are wandering in the desert churchless. That is, without a fellowship of like minded believers that you are accountable to and receiving from God's wise counsel.

I've been around long enough to know the resaons you may not be in a church today. From, " don't like the color of the bathroom tiles" to "I believe they are wrong and I am right".

BUT right now, I want to specifically directly speak to those of you who want to use this medium, the www, as your soap box. In particular this forum. If you are here and you are not in a church environment that places you under spiritual authority and your goal is to "enlighten" us or "teach" us new revelations then I kindly ask you to go and find yourself a new place to propagate your false teaching. You have no authority here if you are not "under authority" already and "accountable" in a real-time situation

I hope this is clear. You are being watched and you will be shown the "way".

Rules for posting in Bible Chat-All Members Must Read Before Posting

The purpose of this forum can be summarized best in the words of Paul where, in 1THESS 5:11, he said “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing”. You are encouraged to exercise and share the fruits of the Spirit with others which are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. While we can have discussion and even debate, let's remember who and what we are in Christ.

On the other hand, if you intend to display the works of the flesh which are listed in Gal 5:20-21 as idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like will get you a warning by the Admins of this board. In extreme cases you will be banned from posting.


Unorthodox teachings of ANY of these religions will be moved to the "Areopagus" or "Controversial" Forums:

1. Seventh Day Adventist (SDA)
2. Jehovah's Witnesses (JW)
3. Latter Day Saints (LDS)
4. ANY non-Christian religion, such as Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Wicca, etc.
5. Roman Catholicism.
6. Oneness/Non-Trinity
7. Universalism of any form to include Universal Reconciliation


Good tip:

Don’t post negative one-liners as a response to a thread. It is rude and unchristian e.g. “This is a load of rubbish!” If someone has taken the time and trouble to post something of substance you owe it to them not to do this. Disagree by all means, but be sure to explain to the other person what it is you are not in agreement and with why you disagree. Negative one-liners will be deleted because they only serve to upset others.

Any posts deemed to break the general board rules against personal attacks, name calling or being ungracious to other members will result in the immediate deletion of the post containing the offending statements. Discuss the subject and not each other and you run no risk of losing a post.

Closed Threads: Ends a discussion. Any new threads in an attempt to reignite a topic that has been closed… will be closed.

Deleted Threads: If your thread or post is deleted, DO NOT re-post it. If we delete a post or thread for a reason other then situations in the rules, we will send you a private message explaining why.

Cut and paste (and then run-away) style of posting: Cut and paste posts and then no personal input will be considered personal attacks on threads as this is an ambush tactic of posting. I want this forum to be interactive (our watchword) and dropping a cut and paste bomb is not productive to any discussion.

Links: Any linking to news sources or any other site with information pertaining to a topic discussed in a thread must be described so a reader will know what to expect once they click on the link. Any link dropped in a thread and the description basically says "read this" or “here ya go” or "Any thoughts/opinions?"... will be deleted. Also any link placed in a thread without any explanation of how it impacts the thread involved... will be deleted. Any link "starting" a thread should also be given a full description as to leave no mystery as to what is on the other end if clicked.

Rules for posting links

We have added some rules to posting links:

--If you post a link to another site, be it a video, article... whatever: Give a description of what it is that they will see. Just posting a link with a message such as "Hey, check this out" or "What do you think?" will result in your post or thread being deleted.

--No links soliciting to members other Christian message boards in posts, signatures, profiles or PM's, rep system, etc.

--No linking to sites promoting the sales of products

Topics about sexual immorality

It is an unfortunate thing that there are so many bound by sexual immorality. However, that is the case with many people and we recognize that as a fact. Our goal here at Bible Forums is to offer a place for folks to fellowship, discuss Scripture, as well as minister to those that need ministering to. Sexual issues do make some folks uncomfortable and we recognize that fact because the majority of mod's aren't that fond of talking about some of the issues on the open board. But it is a reality and one that we cannot hide from because of the times we live in.

All of that being said... I want to let you know the official board stand on issues of sexual immorality and that covers homosexuality, adultery, fornicating, masturbation, porn, and whatever else fits the list. It is SIN because it is summed up simply as sexual immorality and a SIN that no Christian should be practicing.

It is almost guaranteed that whenever the subject comes up... there will be a majority of folks that are making it know to be sin and yet there are always those few that spend post after post to justify the sin. It is our belief that those who believe this need ministering to as well because they are in gross error. We will tolerate that to a point but rest assured... we do have a line in the sand.

The Admin discussed this at length as did the entire moderator team at Bible Forum. This is the instruction that we have passed down and this is how these matters will be dealt with on this message board. Keep in mind that if you have an addiction with something sexual in nature, you need to contact either Slug1 or Cheech and talk with them in the "Breaking the Chains" forum.

Here's what we as moderator's will do here in Bible Forums.

1. It is a sin. That is our focus and that is the MAIN POINT. Sexual immorality covers a multitude of issues. Porn, masturbation, etc... all covered in those two words. I can sum it up in one word... SIN.

2. If a person is caught up in that sin... they need to repent. Yes, say God I am sorry for this nonsense and then... STOP IT!

3. Then we need to explain to this person that God has empowered them with all that is needed to live a life of godliness while here in the nasty now and now. They can be victorious over this SIN.

Those three points are the points that we as moderator's of Bible Forum need to pound home.

Topics about War/Soldiers

I am posting this thread as the Admin of the various Doctrine Sections and putting it in Anything Goes as well. Everyone read and heed please.

I know that this is a tough subject. Folks on both sides of this issue are often very passionate about what they believe. That is fine. You have the right to believe what you believe in this regard as well as speak your opinion on the matter.

Here is what is not allowed.

1. "You are just deceived." I don't care what kind of religious speak that you wrap that up in either. There are several ways that can be said and if it is said... your post will be deleted.

2. When a moderator tells you to chill... it's easy. Chill. If you think you ought not chill then just go ahead and start your thread in chat to mod's explaining that. You may as well because if you post contrary to that... this is where you will be posting anyway.

3. Folks for peace at all cost.... if that is your conviction then that's your conviction. Those for peace but yet there is a time when peace isn't found... that is your conviction then that is your conviction. However, that being said, when you start saying (again, it doesn't matter how you dress it up) that you hear from the Spirit of God therefore everyone else can pound sand... then no need to post in that thread. You too can start a thread in chat to mod's... that is where you will soon be posting if you take that attitude in the thread (other threads as well).

4. Those who are for war and love war and think it cool and bombs away... happy, happy, joy, joy!!! Get saved.

5. Mod's do their work here and it is a pain in the backside often times. When I hear of folks sending private messages to other folks and they are just causing grief and stirring folks up against mod's in those private messages... then you will no longer have the ability to private message. If you feel the need to send links to other message boards where folks can go who are like minded and not have to deal with us "agents of satan" then you will be banned. It has been going on and right now... it is sliding. If it continues then no more letting it slide. We do not make it a habit to read private messages. They are yours and meant to be private. However, if we have to in order to check out reports of abuse... Admin does have that ability. If we learn of folks picking fruit here for another forum... that is abusing the system.

The owner of this message boards spends times more money than is donated in order to keep this message board open and current. Not to mention that he built it over the years with tons of hard work. While we know there are other good boards out there (as well as many really bad ones) it is just not cool to come in here picking the fruit of his labor and continued labor just because you disagree. That is simply being contentious. It is a sin. Stop sinning as you ought.

6. For those of you who want to rail on about how unfair we are because you think we are picking on your stance... we aren't. There are many posters in the war threads that have said what they want and just as passionately as those on the other side.

The Admin in this forum are not anti-war. It isn't because we love war. We do not. It is a horrible thing and would the world not have to contend with it. However, we do not believe that there is going to never be a time for a nation to war. So when we are in those threads we are not going to be on the side of those that are opposed totally to going to war. That doesn't make us unfair to the anti-war side of the discussion. Rest assured that we get on folks from most every side of most any issue. There are folks that can testify of that. Just because you don't see it... don't mean it isn't there. You guys cannot see the deleted post or the infractions issued. We have it set up that way because frankly... it isn't your business. We try to deal with all things privately. When you call us warmonger and the like... really... that's just not smart. One... it is not the truth. Two... it is against the rules because that word is not used to positively describe someone. It is a term of derision and if you are old enough to be on this board... you are old enough to understand that fact. That isn't just saying it (or other such phrases) to the Admin but members a like. Lose the word when posting in here when talking to other posters.

7. It is probably best to go ahead on and start the thread in the Contro section of the boards. It will likely end up there soon enough anyway.

All members are expected to read these rules and abide by them before posting in Bible Chat. Saying "I didn't know" if problems arise will not be a viable excuse.

The rules of Bible Chat can be changed and or may be added to by Admins and Mods as needed.

Topics not allowed in Bible Chat

Just to make things a bit more clear to folks. This list is not complete it's just meant to cover some recent things that have popped up. These topics are only allowed to be discussed in Areopagus.

1. Denial of the Deity of Christ- Reject Jesus Christ as an individual, as being God.
2. Denial of the Trinity - Reject the Trinity.
3. Mortalism/Soul Sleep-At death, the immaterial, non-body aspect of a person remains in the grave with the body, and is unconscious and unaware until the resurrection; and doesn't go to be in the presence of the Lord at death.
4. Universal Salvation- The Belief that all humankind who have ever existed, will inherit Heaven.
5. SDA and JW teachings ( and whoever else you want to throw in that teaches this heresy) that Jesus and Michael are just two different names for the same being.

7,Annihilationism

Preacher bashing isn't allowed on Bible Forums. You can: Discuss the message, disagree with the message and even prove the message wrong if you can but do not use their names while doing so and do not give obvious hints so that everyone can "figure out" who you're referencing.


1. They aren't here to clarify or defend themselves

2. We don't want to draw in unwanted queries and posts from those using the search engines for specific preachers to disparage.

3. If we allowed it we could be sued for hosting slander. Most boards don't have to worry about this but being as popular as we are and as many times as we hit the search engines top lists we do have to worry about it.

False teaching should be and must be disputed and rebuked. We get that and we encourage it. You can rebuke the teaching without using the names.

King James Version only centered debates and threads are not permitted in Bible Chat.

Feel free to start them and discuss them in Controversial.

Full Pelagianism or Hyper-Calvinism are no longer allowed in Bible Chat. Those topics are limited to Controversial. Non-canonical books are also confined to Contro (apocrypha,books of enoch, forbidden books of the bible and such)

The Bible Chat forum is limited to books in the accepted Protestant canon.

This is a Protestant forum. Our position is that only books in the accepted protestant canon are to be discussed as inspired by the Lord.

However,the leadership team also understands that in a bible discussion, any number of other books or research papers may need to be referenced. This is perfectly fine as long as they are discussed as opinions of scholars and not inspired Holy Writ.

What we are trying to regulate is the agenda of some that push for non Protestant canon to be accepted as inspired scripture. For example, someone from the RCC may want to discuss the apocrypha as inspired. Someone from the Church of latter day saints may what to promote the book of Mormon as inspired. A JW may want to push the Watchtower news letter as inspired. This isn't what we are looking for in this sub-forum. We just want good and healthy biblical discussions to take place.

If you want to have in depth discussions on books outside our canon then please limit them to Contro...or in extreme cases Areopagus.
