  • IMPORTANT Satan's Tactics to Destroy Believers

Satan called a worldwide convention. In his opening
address to his evil angels, he said,

"We can't keep the Christians from going to church.
We can't keep them from reading their Bibles & knowing
the Truth. We can't even keep them from conservative
values. But we can do something else. We can keep them
from forming an intimate, abiding experience in Christ.
If they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over
    them is broken."

"So let them go to church, let them have their
conservative lifestyles, but steal their time, so they
can't gain that experience in Jesus Christ."

"This is what I want you to do, angels. Distract them
from gaining hold of their Savior & maintaining that
    vital connection throughout their day!"

"How shall we do this?", shouted his angels.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life & invent
un-numbered schemes to occupy their minds", he answered.
"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, then, borrow, borrow,
borrow. Convince the wives to go to work & the husbands to
work 6 or 7 days a week, 10-12 hrs. a day, so they can
afford their lifestyles. Keep them from spending time
with their children. As their family fragments, soon,
their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of
    work."

"Over stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that
still small voice. Entice them to play the radio or
cassette player whenever they drive, to keep the TV,
the VCR, & their CD's going constantly in their homes.
And see to it that every store & restaurant in the
world plays music constantly. This will jam their
minds & break that union with Christ. Fill their
coffee tables with magazines & newspapers. Pound their
minds with the news 24 hrs. a day. Invade their driving
moments with billboards. Flood their mailboxes with
junk mail, sweepstakes, mail order catalogues, & every
kind of newsletter & promotional offering, free products,
    services, & false hopes."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. Have
them return from their recreation exhausted, disquieted
& unprepared for the coming week. Don't let them go out
in nature. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events,
concerts & movies instead. And when they meet for spiritual
fellowship, involve them in gossip & small talk so that
they leave with troubled consciences & unsettled emotion."

"Let them be involved in soul-winning. But crowd their
lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek
power from Christ. Soon they will be working in their own
strength, sacrificing their health & family unity for the
    good of the cause."

It was quite a convention in the end.

And the evil angels went eagerly to their assignments
causing Christians everywhere to get busy, busy, busy
    & rush here & there.

While that is interesting and I have heard it before...its not really in the bible. For instance there is nothing against women working in the bible:

    [B]Proverbs 31
    The Virtuous Wife
10 Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
    11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.
15 She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.
    16 She considers a field and buys it;
From her profits she plants a vineyard.
17 She girds herself with strength,
    And strengthens her arms.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
    22 She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.
    25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
    28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “ Many daughters have done well,
    But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.

Second, most women have no choice but to work to help the husband support the family.

I have no problems blocking out noise, music, etc at home and in stores and be busy talking to God...maybe some need total quiet to hear Him but this is a noisy world! If you can't block it out you are going to be in trouble with getting school work done, office work, paper work, let alone praying to God

I agree that we can attempt to fill our time with other things and I know get frustrated in all the things I have to do too...but when I look closely at those things...I can't really cut them out. I can't stop cooking supper, I can't stop cleaning house, I can't stop taking care of the things God is allowing me to be a good steward over...but I CAN talk to Him while I am doing those things and many times I do!

The burrowing and buying...well the bible speaks volumes against such things and if the demons say they can't stop us from reading His Word, then we would know this! We all know where the lust of material things leads...
I think most people throw junk mail away too...

While there are a few good points in that email you got there...you know what the biggest danger to our faith is? What really sets us up for a fall? Not reading the bible on a regular basis so when (2) that tragedy ..that rain comes and we can't handle and blame God for it...because we don't have a strong foundation in His Word.

    Matthew 7

    Build on the Rock

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Those that seeks to fill their time with other things are trying to fill a void and using 'things' to do it with instead of seeking time with God.

    God bless
"People do not drift toward holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

One of the most effective tactics Satan uses to destroy believers is to get them bickering with one another. That way he hardly has to do anything at all, they destroy each other.

      Gal 5:14-15
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!

Yea that is true too! I thought the post was directed more towards ones home life though...but that can apply to family members too though.

This makes no sense to me. If Satan can keep us from reading our bible and knowing the truth why can't he keep us from going to church. It seems to me it would be just as easy for such a powerful being. If he can keep me from Jesus why can't he keep me from believing that abortion is wrong.

Seems he's picking some pretty silly stuff to make us do when he can do these other things.

I personally don't believe he can do squat unless God tells him to. He's a tool.

I think the point is that Satan puts things in the way, things that draw our attention away from devotion to Christ. Things like "suff" or "activity" that occupies our time and our attention so that we don't have any left to give to Him.

At least that's what I was getting from the OP.

That's my take on it too. It's easy to spend so much time rushing around going nowhere that we end up giving God the scraps of the day, squeezing in a quick prayer before we doze off.

Even in time that might be used for a bit of reflection so many people crowd out any chance of that. I look around me on the train when I come home from work and if I got paid for everyone I saw with earphones on, I wouldn't have to go to work.
24 August 2013 - I've decided to take a break from a number of internet forums, including this one, for my own reasons.
I expect to be back at some time in the future, although at present don't know when that will be.
I've been here just a few days shy of six years, and those six years have been greatly blessed.

                ---

1Jn 4:1 NKJV Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Th 5:21-22 NKJV Test all things; hold fast what is good. (22) Abstain from every form of evil.

I believe that Satan has one ability; to lie. We simply need to choose who we are going to believe.

Was this worldwide convention, a meeting about Christians in the USA, or world wide like China, India, Iran, Iraq etc ?
Maybe he keeps them busy escaping persecutions.

                      Characteristics of Satan

                      1. Created by God, and not equal to God (Prov 16:4)
                      2. Defies God and despises truth (John 8:44)
                      3. Was given limited power (Job 1:8-12)
                      4. Was defeated at Calvary (Eph. 1:20-23)
                      5. Rules the masses outside God’s protection (Eph. 2:1-3)
                      6. Commands a hierarchy of demons (Eph. 6:10-12)
                      7. Came to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10)
                      8. Masquerades as "an angel of light." (2 Cor. 11:14-15)
                      9. Tries to hide the actual truth about our God.
                      10. Twists the meaning of Scriptures to fit his purposes. (Gen. 3:1-5)
                      11. Offers counterfeit promises he can't fulfill
                      12. Always seeks an "opportune time" to tempt us (Luke 4:13)

When we are dealing with false teachers it is important to remember this:
                          Eph 6:12-13
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
                          NKJV
We are protected against both false teachers AND Satan by being fully armed with truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the word of God, and prayer. If we have these we are not so vulnerable and the attacks of the enemy cannot bring us down.

This is true, however, it does not discount the message contained therein (that false teachers come to kill, steal, and destroy). Sometimes we should turn our eyes away from what force is behind them and realize that we should reject them and their message. Our lives may indeed depend on it.

The ultimate goal of the enemy is to drive us away from God, however he can achieve it. His goal with sinners is to keep them from coming to Jesus and find salvation and his goal with believers is to keep them from closeness with the Lord Jesus. If he can distract us from Jesus in any way, then he will do so, because he knows that without the Lord we are utterly powerless and he can just come in and walk all over us and do as he pleases. And so I'd have to agree with the OP. A Christless Christianity is the devil's playground, IMO.
